Topic-icon Is there a way NOT to request certain data from Facebook?

Hello again: I'm concerned that some of my users (who are mostly teens and parents) may be turned off by the Facebook permission screen that says, "[Site} will receive: your relationship interests and status updates."

I'm not using either of these... Just grabbing the most basic profile information to populate the user profile.

Is there a way to configure this in JFBC, so that such a scary message isn't shown to users?

Also, there is the "Submit for Login Review..." I assume this step is recommended?

Thanks in advance!

JFBConnect only attempts to request permissions for fields that we are using, so something is configured that requires these permissions. Generally, you will have to review the fields you have mapped in the JFBConnect backend > Profiles area to see if there are any mapped that would require the permissions.

* Relationship status requires 'user_relationships' permission
* Interested in requires 'user_relationship_details' permission

As far as importing status, check the setting for "Import Social Network Status" in the Profiles area.

When you are using extended permissions, Facebook requires that you submit your application for review. This again leads me to believe that you have extended fields mapped in your profiles area. Name, email and maybe bio (I believe off the top of my head) are the only basic fields that won't require this review process. Anything beyond that requires more permissions/review, and that's out of our hands.
