I was hoping that this extension would solve my problem that just started happening. When I post an article link from my web to facebook, no article info appears. I set up an app on FB. Any suggestions?

Missing Required Property The 'og:type' property is required, but not present.

fb:app_id hasn't been included in the meta tags. Specify the app ID so that stories shared to Facebook will be properly attributed to the app. Alternatively, app_id can be set in url when open the share dialog. Otherwise, the default app id( 966242223397117 ) will be assigned.

Actually, I just tried to fetch new scrape information for that URL, and Facebook was having problems connecting to your site. I get the following error:

Please look at our Common Support Questions section for "My Share Preview is Incorrect". Specifically, try looking at #3 for suggestions on how to fix that error.

Looking at the source on your page, I see the fb:app_id tag on the page properly, so that should be resolved once you fix the above error.

The GZip Page Compression is and was off. Any other suggestions. I tried to contact FB to see if they had any idea, but I am not confident that they will reply with helpful info. Thanks!

Whenever I try any URL on your site, like www.gloryhog.com/joomla_new/index.php , I'm getting a 404 error. Have you changed something else? Can you provide a specific URL you're trying to share so we can test on it further?

Thanks,
Alex

The directory is jooma_new not Joomla_new.

www.gloryhog.com/jooma_new/

Here is a link to an article: www.gloryhog.com/jooma_new/index.php/vid...ideo-special-edition

Thanks

Sorry for the delay and confusion on your URL.

I'm not sure what the issue is with Facebook scanning your page. As Melissa noted, the only time we've seen a similar error is when GZip compression is enabled in Joomla. Even then, the issue is not a problem with JFBConnect but Joomla itself.

In your case, there must be something else preventing them from scanning your page. You may need to submit a bug report to Facebook to see if they can help determine why the scanner is having issues. You can report a bug here:
developers.facebook.com/bugs

One thing worth testing on your own is simply creating a raw HTML file and seeing if the Facebook URL debug tool can scan it. That way, it's not something that's generated by Joomla, which will narrow things down quickly as to what may be preventing their scanner: something within Joomla or a configuration issue with Apache itself.

I hope that helps,
Alex
