Open Graph & Facebook was created by kanoon
Hi,

We recently set up an open graph action which got approved by Facebook.
Open Graph shall publish the action by joining a JomSocial group. All settings are done in JFBConnect but there's no action post.
Hope you can help!

Cheers,
Max

Max,

* In the JFBConnect > Open Graph > Activity Logs in the backend, are there any errors in the log?
* Not all activities will show up in the timeline. Could you check the Activity Log on Facebook at www.facebook.com/YOUR_USERNAME/allactivity to see if there are any entries?
* Which versions of JomSocial and JFBConnect are you using?

Hi Melissa,

Yes we checked the Log - everything seems to be alright. But when testing with debug the alert says that the "action" can not be transferred to Facebook. We have no idea why not....
We are using JFBConnect 6.4.2.
Do you wish to login our backend? Do you have the login details?

Cheers,
Max

Yes we checked the Log - everything seems to be alright.

Can you explain what you mean here? In the JFBConnect -> Open Graph -> Activity Log area, are you saying that there are actions showing for user's Joining a Group? If so, does anything show in the "FB Error Message" column?

But when testing with debug the alert says that the "action" can not be transferred to Facebook.

Can you paste the exact message here? Also, where is it displayed: in the system-messages box (like where a login failure message displays) or somewhere else?

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Yes, it says: Unknown path components: /join (see attachment)

Hope that helps!

Max

There was no attachment. When you upload an image, please make sure you use the green arrow icon to insert into the post.

Even without the image, I have a guess as to the cause though. That error sounds like you have setup the action as a "Facebook Built-In Object". Since 'join' is a custom action only for your site, you'll want to uncheck the box.

Built-in actions are only a small set of actions that Facebook has defined that any site can use, like "read" (an article), "like" (Facebook Like), "watch" (a video), etc.

I hope that helps get you going,
Alex

Hi Alex,

good guess! :-)
We unchecked it and we have now a new error message:
Gruppe beigetreten groups Error /groups/viewgroup/59-jobboerse-in-der-musikindustrie Invalid parameter 2015-11-25 16:35:48

Do you know what to do here?

When I visit the group page at kanoon.de/groups/viewgroup/59-jobboerse-in-der-musikindustrie I see the following invalid Open Graph tags in the source:
<meta property="og:see_also" content="/"/>
  <meta property="og:see_also" content="/groups/display"/>
  <meta property="og:see_also" content="/photos/display"/>
  <meta property="og:see_also" content="/videos/display"/>
  <meta property="og:see_also" content="/events/display"/>

Re-scraping the page on Facebook gives the error that these are not correct URLs:

Object at URL 'kanoon.de/index.php?option=com_community...roupid=59&Itemid=121' of type 'kanoonrecords:group' is invalid because the given value '/' for property 'og:see_also' could not be parsed as type 'url'.

These see_also tags are not being inserted onto the page by JFBConnect. We've had users that have had problems in the past with JomSocial inserting incorrect tags. Could you follow the instructions at the following link , re-scrape your page and attempt the action again. Let us know if this has any effect.

Hi Mel,

We're not quite sure how to change the settings correctly.
Can I invite you to our facebook app on facebook so that you could have a look where settings might be wrong?

Cheers,
Max
