I just tried to authenticate with Facebook and the popup showed the following error message:

App Not Setup: This app is still in development mode, and you don't have access to it. Switch to a registered test user or ask an app admin for permissions.

That means you haven't taken your app out of test mode so all users can authenticate. Right now, only the administrator of your Facebook app can authenticate and login, which is probably when things aren't working.

Please fix that setting by following our Facebook Setup Guide , specifically, step 16.

I hope that helps,
Alex

I have never seen this issue before and am unsure what could be causing a loop like that. The page is re-loading very, very quickly as though it's not even communicating with Facebook. Something else must be causing the loop, but I can't tell what from what I can see.

Would it be possible to give us admin access to your site to investigate further? Hopefully we can narrow things down from there, but if not, we'd need to take it a step further and access over FTP to make modifications to our files to see where things are falling apart.

To send credentials, please use the Private Message mail icon under my name to the left.

Thanks,
Alex

Thank you for sending the credentials. This issue is still something very, very strange. I still don't know the cause of the loop, but I don't think it's caused by JFBConnect. The authentication from Facebook seems to be tripping a firewall or something. During the authentication process, there are lots of requests back and forth between your server, Facebook and your browser. I can't be certain, but it seems like all these connections is causing an issue somewhere on your server. Usually, that would mean a firewall that's detecting the strange behavior, but trying to block the browser.

One easy test to show that something outside of Joomla is the cause is simply loading a normal HTML file. Since an HTML file loads completely outside of Joomla, if it doesn't load, it proves that Joomla (or JFBConnect) can't be causing the loop. For my test, I simply tried to load the _temporary.html file from your root. It loads before I try to login, but won't after I do.

I'm sorry I don't have a direct answer for your issue, but hopefully the above helps you (or your hosting company) narrow things down further. Please let us know anything you find or if there's more help we can provide. From what I'm seeing though, there's not much we can do within JFBConnect or even Joomla to fix this.

Thanks,
Alex

Sorry for the delay. I'm glad to hear you found the issue. I figured it had to be some other server-level firewall since nothing would load, even outside of Joomla.

If you run into any other issues, please let us know and we'll gladly help however we can.

Thanks,
Alex

Again, I'm unsure what's happening here. The Canvas area is setup correctly in your Facebook App and everything seems to be working as it should. If I disable the JFBCSystem plugin, the page still remains blank within Facebook. Our system plugin is what enables all JFBConnect functionality. So, if it still is a problem with our plugin enabled, it means something outside of JFBConnect that's preventing the page from loading.

Do you still have mod_security enabled in some form on your site or some other server level firewall that could be preventing the page from loading? I've taken a picture of what's loading in Facebook below and you can see that your URL is in the form, as it should be, but the head and body sections are completely blank. So, something is preventing your server from returning any data:
File Attachment:

I've disable Akeeba and enabled Error Reporting with the Joomla Global Configuration area and nothing is helping to indicate what is going wrong. Again, it seems like something on the server is preventing a connection to your site, but I'm not sure what.

I hope that helps explain things a little, but again, let us know if there's any more we can help with.

Thanks,
Alex
