Hi,
despite I choose an option to hide username, password, email and name fields using Mini Registration, they are still shown on registration. Why the settings don't work. Thank you.

It looks like you have set the Registration Component on your website to JomSocial. The registration flow is going through JomSocial, so we don't have control of which fields are being shown. JFBConnect is just passing in the profile data to JomSocial prior to the registration taking place.

The settings you are referring to are only applicable when it is set to JFBConnect.

OK. It's clear. But since JFBConnect can populate name, username and email fields, maybe it could populate password field as well? That would solve the issue.

No, it's not possible to pre-populate a password field. Since it's starred out ****, browsers won't let that be pre-filled with a value. That's just how browsers work since there'd be now way for the user to know what value is pre-set there for them.

On our JFBConnect registration page, we have the ability to hide the password field and generate one automatically when the registration form is submitted. We don't have that level of control over the JomSocial registration page though.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

Thank you. I'm getting used to it - with these common scripts everything is so cumbersome.
I'll have to change the registration mode back to JFBConnect and try to tweak it.

Glad we could help explain. If you have any suggestions on how to improve JFBConnect, we'd love to hear them.

Thanks, and best of luck to you and your site,
Alex
