Walter,
I think I'm a little confused about what works and doesn't. I'm sure we can help, but I need to understand things a bit more...

I have 2 users with the same rights (post to networks activated) and works.

What works? Are you saying you can post other content other than K2 and that always works.. or the popup appears elsewhere.. or..

Except, user1 can post a full K2 article, user2 can't !

What do you mean the full K2 article? The social toolbar with the "Create Post" button shows in the full article view, but doesn't works? Is there a 'not full article' view where it does work?

Also admin (Super user), the same, can't post the full K2 article, The popup-box won't open in the K2, article.

That's interesting if it's not popping up. My guess here is that there's some extra Javascript that's being inserted when the super admin is logging in and, somehow, that JS is causing a conflict with our stuff. Is the non-working time always with a super admin user?

Sorry to fire back so many questions for you. I'm just not sure what could be wrong with what you describe, but we'll gladly help get to the bottom of things.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex, that's right. It worked before, but this issue came up after upgrading to version 6.3

User1 and User2 have the same rights. Both can use channels (other pages work, even K2 catgory view). But, when opening the full K2 article, User1 popupbox works, User2 popupbox doesn't work. The bar is in place, getting"links" but the popup-box is not coming up. Same issue with Super User.

Thanks, Walter

Thanks for more information. Can you open the "Developer Tools" or "Javascript Console" in the browser you're using? The location for doing so is slightly different in all browsers, but hopefully you can find it. If not.. let me know your browser of choice.

Once the console is being displayed, try clicking the "Create Post" button again and seeing if an error message displays in the console. Let me know what that error message is and it will help us investigate the issue further.

The other option is to Private Message us some super admin credentials (or the user creds that are having problems) so we can investigate on our own.

Thanks,
Alex

When logging in with the two users that the popup does not work for, I see the following two errors on the console which are not showing for the user where the popup works:
Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier   208-nieuwe-ondernemerspartij-hero-brinkman:161
Uncaught ReferenceError: $GKMenu is not defined gk.menu.js:37

I tried to temporarily disable the 'GK Module Title Links' and 'GK Menu Extended Parameters' system plugins, but the gk error was still present. Since I am not familiar with that extension/plugin and don't know what else needs to be turned off, could you try temporarily disabling it to see if that helps?

Hi Melissa,

Tried to figure this out. So what is difference about these users:

User "Redactie" (Social Media Manager) -> error !
User "walterdj" (Social Media Manager) -> no error and works (they have the same status)
User "admin" (Super User -> has all the rights) -> error!

So what makes the difference between "Redactie" and "walterdj" as they are duplicates. The only thing I can come up with, is that all channels are defined by user "walterdj" as I am the admin of the FB (and also LinkedIn) pages. It worked before and after upgrading to 6.3 I got this issue. I know, pretty weird ... ;-). I am also missing the social media buttons in the (Jomsocial) user preferences (for linking accounts). They also disappeared after upgrading to 6.3. Logged out and pushing a button, I do get the message to login to linking the accounts. As you can see, jfbconnect is also integrated with Jomsocial (still running 3.2.1.6 -> still to many issues with 4.0.x). Everything worked fine running jfbconnect 6.0.3.

By the way, these "gk plugins" comes with the template from Gavick (Msocial -> www.gavick.com). I also switched everything off and still the same result. So let's detail down ...

It's user based ("walterdj") works and also for K2 full articles (not for the other users). Secondly, except for these K2 full articles, also the other user accounts work.

Thanks, Walter

Going to your site now without making any changes, the 'Create Post' for all three users works for me. Please clear your browser cache and try again. Here's the popup when logging in via redactie on Chrome:

This is a little vague - Alex and I aren't sure what you're referring to here. Could you give a specific URL that you're talking about and where you're expecting the buttons to be, etc or provide screenshots to explain what you're referring to?

Hi Alex and Melissa,

Thanks for your reply. As I mentioned, create post works for all three accounts, except for K2 full articles

Redactie, admin -> no popupbox
walterdj -> works -> popupbox

I cleared the browser-cache (Chrome) but still same result. As Redactie and walterdj have the same rights, why one user account works, the other not. Secondly, as admin has all the rights, why doesn't it work either. Or the other way around, why does user account "walterdj" work!

The missing buttons:

When logged in, in Jomsocial menu "Profile" -> "Change preferences" (www.hetgilde.net/profile/edit#detailSet). In the account information (where you can change the password) there used to be the social media buttons. Pushing them created a link (after approving the app) between FB and the Joomla/Jomsocial account. See image.

Thanks, Walter

For the Channels popup, I'm unsure what's happening there. There is a Javascript error on the page and that error is preventing further Javascript code from executing, like our modal popup. If you open the browsers developer tools and go to the Javascript Console, you can see the error, like below:
File Attachment:

Please note the following:
* That picture was taken right after the page loaded. I didn't 'do' anything.
* The error appears even if the JFBCSystem plugin is unpublished. That plugin is what enables all of JFBConnect functionality. Since that error is showing even with our code disabled, it indicates that JFBConnect is not the source.
I'm sorry I don't have any better information to give you right now, but here's the area of code that the complaint is coming from:
$K2(document).ready(function() {
$K2('#userName').val('Redactie 't Gilde').attr('disabled', 'disabled');
$K2('#commentEmail').val('[email protected]').attr('disabled', 'disabled'); });
 $GKMenu = { height:true, width:true, duration: 250 };
$GK_TMPL_URL = "http://www.hetgilde.net/templates/gk_msocial";
There's also the error in the gk_menu.js script.

Again, neither are cause by JFBConnect, so there's nothing more we can do to determine the problem until that error is taken care of.

Missing Buttons
JFBConnect has never automatically added the re-connect buttons to the page you referenced. If they were there before, it means either:
a) JomSocial was previously inserting them, but is no longer doing so. To my knowledge, they have never inserted the buttons there in previous versions, but it's possible they added, and then removed, that functionality at some point.
b) You made an override to the JomSocial profile layout and added our {JFBCLogin show_reconnect=true} tag previously and now, for some reason, that tag isn't appearing anymore.

Either way, option (b) is what we'd recommend if you want those buttons to show again.

I hope that helps,
Alex
