Hi,
I just installed the Kunena with my k2 site and set up the login, etc.
goo.gl/UmkKpu
I am trying to get the visitors to participate but so far, not much success.
I am wondering if there is some way for those who might reply or post in the Kunena forum to have their comments to automatically appear on Facebook and/or other social media.
I do have share icons on the posts and I know that if they do post, they can manually share. Would Open Graph help? I am not sure how to use it for this although i did try to set it up.
Also, I guess the larger question i have is this--why would people post on a kunena forum when they can just post on FB. I could understand if the content was technical in nature, FB, twitter and Google+ might not be a good way to communicate responsively. But, it seems to me that people might not want to post in the forum if they can just do so on their own fb page in a related group or their own stream.
Just wondering...

We don't have a way to automatically post back to Facebook when a user posts. In general, that's a very difficult task to do well because a reply, by itself, may not have much context. It also may not be the users wish to have that posted for them.

The Open Graph tags help make sure that if a user Like's the topic, then the preview for the page will look good in the user's feed. As always, have a good default image set in the Open Graph configuration area of JFBConnect since many topics likely won't have an image in them.

Finally, why users would post is up to you and them :) Facebook is a great 'general' medium, but if you have a site that's focused on a specific topic, discussions are easier to start on-page. Additionally, as you're creating content, add links to the Kunena forum to discuss the article. That way, users know where you want them to comment.. although they certainly don't have to follow your nudge.

I hope that helps explain, but if you have any other questions, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
