Topic-icon upgrading to 6.1.0 broke some FB configurations

hi there,
after upgrading to 6.1.0, this error messege apeared on my JFBConnect dashbored:

then when i enter AutoTune i see this on the Facebook App tab:

here starts the problem. none if this buttons seams to do anything. tried clicking them both several times, and i get the same page with the same messege.

so far nothing on the site actually seems broken, but this erroe messege still apear.

also checked the configuration on developers.facebook.com, and didn't see any problem there.

It looks like you upgraded from 6.0.4 to 6.1.0. That's a very standard upgrade process. I'm not sure why the Autotune data would have been removed or why JFBConnect thinks you have a new Facebook Application at all.

Can you go to the Configuration -> Facebook tab and make sure that the App ID and Secret keys are correct? Those keys are checked for some basic data from your App (mainly that the App Domain and Site URL are configured). If that data isn't there, we assume you have a 'new' Application and show the options from your picture about automatically configuring it. If your App was already setup before though, those settings should be correct in your App and JFBConnect should just use them.

Did you do anything special to uninstall JFBConnect before upgrading? You don't need to use the Joomla uninstaller before upgrading, but you can. It shouldn't cause any problems. The only time you may run into issues is if you manually delete the JFBConnect database tables.

On the front-end, you say things are working. Is Facebook authentication working as expected? If so, it means the Facebook app is definitely setup right.. we'll just need to understand what else is going on under the hood in Autotune.

hi alex,
thanks for the response. few topics that you mentioned:
1. app id and secret key are there and correct, made sure of that.
2. login with FB is working. also deleted my user (and the app from my FB account) and re-registered with FB, worked fine.
3. i upgraded just by installing the new version, no uninstall.

also tried to re-install the component, and re-download it from your site and install again.
i use Akeeba Backup to make a system restore point before every install - can that cause the problem? hasn't been a problem in past updgrades.

I'm honestly totally confused as to why JFBConnect would be doing what you've posted.

Its good everything is working though, which is the most important. If you want us to investigate further, we'll gladly take a look at the admin are to try to determine what may be happening. If so, just send us your super admin credentials via Private Message and we'll do what we can.

Thanks for the PM with admin credentials. We'll need FTP access to diagnose the problem further. I can't tell where things are going wrong, but my guess is that your site isn't making a real connection to Facebook to get the Application information, even though JFBConnect is reporting it was able to. We'll need FTP access to add some debugging code and understand what's going on further. That will help us add better debugging code to future releases to either fix this problem or at least provide a real message as to what's wrong.
