I bought the JFB Connect component, but nothing is working (I can not register a user using Facebook and Google+).
A series of errors ... also appeared java script errors (asks to enable).
As I am not a striker, I need a developer support to solve these problems. I've seen the tutorials but still not working.
What do I do?

I don’t see the social login buttons anywhere on your site. Can you tell me where I should be looking?

Also, looking at your page, our Javascript file, jfbconnect.js, is not being loaded. That would cause you many issues. Can you verify that the JFBCSystem plugin is enabled and, if so, disable any caching you have enabled or any optimization plugins you may have activated. That may help get things going.

Thanks,
Alex

Good morning,

Today I am again trying to make JFB Connect component work but is not working.
It's not working. Could you send me an email so I can you combine a better way to contact you here in the forum? I'm not able to solve many things, and I really need your help Alex.
Thank you!

The forums are the primary method for technical support. They are monitored 7 days a week and generally will get responses within just a few hours.

We can help you through email, but it is a much slower process as our email is only responded to about once per day, and not on weekends. The forums are much easier to manage as all of your support questions can easily be navigated through your posts and topics, whereas email conversations can be confusing to keep track of.

Whichever way you choose, please let us know specifically what features you're trying to configure and what issues you're running into. If there are missing buttons, errors messages or anything else you can let me know about, that will help us understand the problem and help get you going.

For email support, simply use the Contact Us button above. Again, it may take a while to get a response that way, if you choose it.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello Alex.

I understand.

Actually, I'm not getting any login ...

I paid for a subscription in cleantalk.org/

I had to buy a license from them, because it was the only way I managed to avoid spam on my site ... I had about 2,000 comments it received a hundred emails and were about 1000 registered users on my site each day. Thank God, the cleantalk solved my problem (you could include an antispam system in JFB! Would be perfect!).

So ... a week later, I decided to buy the JFB Connect, but it does not work on my site ... maybe some problem with the CleanTalk.

I talked to you about a support email because I was allowed to send data from the access site, could you check for me what's going on, as well as configure the JFB correctly for me.

I see many raves about this component ... felt very strongly that he fucionasse on my site.

I'm waiting, ok?

Ah, my site is www.cursopreparatoriomilitar.com.br

Thank you again!
=)

We definitely hear ya about spam. We have at least a thousand attempts a day for registrations. We use SpamBotCheck , which checks the user's email and IP address against a couple of public databases to see if they're known spammers. It seems to work just fine for us.

As for integration of a spam verification into JFBConnect, it really hasn't been an issue or something we think we need. The 'fake' registration attempts all go through Joomla's standard registration. For a user to create a fake account with JFBConnect, they need to have a social network login first. If they're creating spammy social network accounts, they'll usually get blacklisted by those social networks pretty quickly and therefore can't login to your site. In over 5 years of developing JFBConnect, we've never heard of a spam registration issue with social registrations.

For your issues with JFBConnect, I'm still unsure of what is actually wrong. Above, you just mention 'problems'. Can you please help explain what functionality you're trying to configure and what issues you're running into? From the above, it definitely sounds like you're working on the social network authentication. If so, can you let me know:
* What networks are you testing with? Facebook, Google, LinkedIn or Twitter?
* Have you created the "Applications" for those networks and obtained your App IDs and Secret Keys?
* When you try to authenticate, what happens? Do you get an error message, a blank page, etc?
* Can you set the "Enable Debug Mode" setting in JFBConnect -> Configuration to "Yes" and check if any other error messages appear during authentication?

Please let us know any details about your issues and we'll gladly help. There are a ton of features in JFBConnect, so we need to narrow down any problems you're having one step at a time.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex!

Look this:

How do I fix this error?

I'm honestly not sure how to fix that. The issue seems to be with the cleantalk extension you have. It's denying the user for some reason. I'm completely unsure how that add-on works as I've never tried it. I'd recommend contacting their developers who may be able to help you determine how to 'skip' checks on users registering through alternate means other than the standard Joomla registration process.

In general, JFBConnect creates 100% standard users. We use the Joomla authentication and user plugin systems to create and authenticate the user, as we should. If the cleantalk extension is using a non-standard method of verifying the user credentials, and passing those credentials to their service, that could be causing the problem. They'd need to investigate a bit more as to what that error message about "User forbidden. Please enable Javascript..." means as it's not generated by JFBConnect, and I wouldn't have the first clue where to look to fix that.

Sorry to push you to the other developers, but they know their own code. If the problem was within JFBConnect, we'd gladly help however we can, but I just don't know their code and therefore can't debug what's going wrong there.

I hope that helps explain. When you hear back from the cleantalk developers, please let us know anything they find. We'll be more than happy to investigate anything that may be a problem in JFBConnect.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello Alex,

Please, I am finding the following problems:

1) I can not login using the JFB Connect on Google .. When I click the button, it directs me to the email ... after making the choice of email, the following error appears:

prntscr.com/3s69u6

2) I'm not able to login usndo the JFB Connect on Linkedin .. When I click the button, and now appears the error:

prntscr.com/3s6as2

3) As this function is used:

prntscr.com/3s6b9r JFBCLike {Key = 1234}

Could you teach me?

I did the translation of JFBConnect Full BackEnd ... took me 2 days but it was worth it. If you want I can send you by email (I accessed the transifex, but there just has JFBConnect with few strings translated and even then, is another component version).

Thank you!
Italo

#1 and #2 are both the same type of issue. Both your Google and LinkedIn application do not sound like they are setup properly. You need to make sure the Callback URL parameter is set in both Application configurations properly. For more information, please see the following configuration guides:
LinkedIn - Step 3-4-2 (OAuth 2.0 Redirect URLs )
Google - Step 7-4 (Authorized redirect URI)
Fixing those two settings should fix the authentication flow for those networks.

3) The "Admin Render Key" is meant to be a secret key that can be included in our Easy-Tags before they are rendered. For instance, if you set the key to "1234", the tag you'd need to use on the front-end of your site would be:
{JFBCLike key=1234}
The purpose of the 'key' is so that on sites where user's can enter text, like on this forum for instance, they can't include a Facebook Like button or other feature intentionally or on accident. They need to know the secret key you've configured, otherwise, the tag will not be replaced with the social button.

I hope that makes sense, but if not, let me know.

As for your translations, please send them to us! Our email address is support at sourcecoast.com. We'll gladly get them included in the next release.

Thanks!
Alex
