Hi there,
I'm in the process of replacing JomSocial with EasySocial and I've used the JFBconnect in their settings to get the Facebook and Google login buttons to appear. But I see that when I'm logged in, my Facebook picture and profile info is not being pulled in.

see screencast.com/t/veRezlUUY2MY

They tell me I should ask over here.

First, make sure you have the Social Profiles - EasySocial plugin enabled in the plugin manager. Then, ensure that it's configured how you want in the JFBConnect -> Profiles area for importing data.

If that's still not working, please check what version of EasySocial you're using. We should work with all versions, but we've heard issues with 1.2.7 for importing cover photos. Avatars should be fine in that release though.

Of course if you still have issues, just let us know and we'll gladly help investigate further. There are many users with JFBConnect and EasySocial working smoothly now.. but as with any new(ish) extension and integration between the two, there may be some issues/configurations we're not aware of.

Thanks,
Alex

No. there is no Social Profiles - EasySocial plugin.
I can't find it as a separate download on Stackideas.

Found it and installed it. Configured it to import avatar and profile picture etc. Checked on the front end and still not importing. I logged out and then tried logging in with Facebook button and the page refreshed to a blank page:

I'm using EasySocial 1.2.7 on my test site only.

There's an issue with importing the Cover photo that's a problem with EasySocial 1.2.7. Please see this post which has more information about how to get a patch from StackIdeas.

As for the white page, please go to the Joomla Global Config area and set Error Reporting to 'Maximum'. Let us know what error message appears and we should be able to help get you going.

Also, with EasySocial 1.2+, you need to be using JFBConnect 6.0.4 as there have been multiple fixes in JFBConnect for lots of changes that EasySocial implemented in 1.2.

Thanks,
Alex

OK. thanks. When updating JFB is there no update button within the backend? Must I download all the latest versions and install using extension manager?

No, not currently. We're looking at re-implementing an auto-update feature. We had one a few years ago, but ran into too many issues with it. All you need to do is download the latest and install it just like it was new. You don't need to uninstall first and you won't loose any configuration settings.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Set error reporting to max. Updated jFB and ran auto tune.
When I go to the site it seems to log me in using Facebook the first time automatically. When I logout and then try to login, the page refreshes after the little Facebook loginwindow flashes on the screen and leaves the white screen.

there are no visible error messages.
see
screencast.com/t/LNsd145LfkC

Also, the Facebook and google login buttons do not appear on the signup screen.

Peter,
I just got into your site. On the EasySocial home page, I see the Facebook and Google buttons under the signin and registration areas, as expected. EasySocial is automatically adding those buttons there since JFBConnect is installed.

I then registered to test and got the white page. The issue with that is because you still have the "New User Redirection" and "Returning User Redirections" set to the JomSocial -> Profile menu item. I changed those to your home page and it worked just fine. Hopefully you just need to set it to whatever menu item you really want to use.

Finally, my avatar and cover photo were imported correctly. Profile data wasn't imported, but in the JFBConnect -> Profiles area there were no field mappings setup. Updating that however you want should be all you need.

I hope that helps get you going. From what I see though, things look pretty good so far.

Best of luck,
Alex
