I've installed latest version of your module but the "Facebook" button is not working again!

I press it and it does absolutely nothing. I can't connect through my Facebook account althrough Iam logged in. So I need you to login again and check the issue.

It worked for me the first time I just tried on your site. After you update, please make sure you clear your Joomla caches. Our Javascript did change in the 6.0 release, and we do what we can to prevent caching of our assets, but it's not something we can completely control.

If you are still having issues, let us know what browsers it's not working in and we'll gladly investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

In the JomSocial admin menu there is no "Social Button" or "Settings" to change something!

Yes I did a Purge Expired Cache, and Clear cache for everything, until I stopped getting 505 errors (I had all of my news items not cached).
So I cleared all cache and still the same issue.
The issue insists with Google Chrome, so you have to test it with Chrome. I can normally Facebook login with Firefox.

Manos,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I just tested again from your home page, and things, again, are working fine for me. Is there a certain page you're having issues from or any more information you can provide on how to recreate the problem?

I'm testing with Chrome on a Mac and it's working every time. You can also go the JFBConnect -> Usermap and check if there are new registrations (by checking the created column) or returning user logins (by checking the modified column). That will help narrow down if it's a problem for everyone, or just certain users for some reason.

Thanks,
Alex

The problem has mainly to do with PCs running on Windows 7 (most people use PC with Windows 7) and Google Chrome not recognising Flash/Javascripts.

Can you test it with a PC? We might have to publish a "Download latest Javascript button" in order for the issue to be fixed with problematic Chrome browsers.

I just tested again on Windows 7 SP1 with Chrome v33.0.1750.154. I went to your home page, clicked the "Facebook" button and was immediately logged in. The popup for "You are now being logged in" appeared as expected.

We might have to publish a "Download latest Javascript button" in order for the issue to be fixed with problematic Chrome browsers.

Can you explain that a bit more? What is the 'latest Javascript' that you're talking about? Are you thinking this is caused by something old on your site still being cached on users browsers?

I really don't know what's going on on your site or your test environment. If there are any Javascript error messages you're seeing, or any other information you can provide on what's happening or what you may think is going wrong, that may help us come up with more suggestions as to what to check next.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello again. In my browser the button is competely unclickable and I can't understand why. This happens in 2 PCs.
I use the admin account in the site. I also tried to login to Facebook.com with 2 different accounts in case that this is the problem but it wasn't that.

Again the problem happens ONLY with latest version of Chrome. It works in all other browsers.

[Edit] I have only Alexa traffic rank and Google Chrome Desktop extensions installed. I disabled them, restarted browser and now it works. So any idea on how to skip those two extensions?

When you disable the Alexa Traffic Rank and Google Chrome Desktop extensions it works? I'm not sure how or why those are interfering, but I'm glad you found the issue.

I'm not sure what you mean here. If they're disabled, you shouldn't need to do anything else. There's no way in JFBConnect we could detect those extensions and do something differently, if that's what you're looking for. If they are causing this conflict, you'd need to contact their devs. They could be adding a hidden div on the page somewhere that's 'above' the FB button for some reason.. or a thousand other things. That's all in the browser though and 'overlaid' on top of your site.. not something we can detect from within the site and, therefore, we can't do anything about it.

I'd recommend re-enabling one or the other to narrow down which is causing the problem and then either leaving it disabled so you don't have to worry about this or contact their devs.

I'm glad you got things narrowed down, and best of luck,
Alex
