Hello,

I would like my register user to receive their random generated password in email from linking their facebook/social accounts.
In the normal registration, 'Password Field on Registration' only provide 'generate and hide' or 'leave blank'

I had tried both but none send the password to user mail.
My registered users were asking where to view/receive the initial generated joomla password.

Secondly, where can I edit the email message/content send to new registered user?

Thanks.

If Automatic Registration is enabled, please make sure the "Generate Random Password" setting in the "Automatic Registration" section is enabled as well. Without that, a password will not be automatically generated for those users who's accounts are automatically generated.

Whenever a password is generated, whether for Normal or Automatic accounts, the password should be in the new user email.

The strings for our emails are in our language files at /language/en_GB/en_GB.com_jfbconnect.ini

I hope that helps get you started.. but if you have any other questions, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello Alex,

I am only using normal registeration so that my user can decide their username.
Automatic password generation was enabled too although I am not using it.

No password can be found in email for new user registeration.

Sorry for the delay, and thanks for your patience.

I just registered on the site and was able to understand the problem. You are using Community Builder. That sends it's own registration emails, and so JFBConnect doesn't send them in that case. You have JFBConnect set to 'Skip' CB activation, so the new user email being sent is the "Welcome Email". You'll need to update that emails strings in the CB -> Configuration -> Registration area and add the [PASSWORD] tag somewhere so that the password is included in the email.

That's not something JFBConnect can control.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

Hi Alex,

I have cross checked with the defined (default) community builder activation and registration email message. It is not the same as what user receives in their email.
The message seems to come from somewhere else any other likely area I can check?

Note: for normal registration, user get community builder message in email
for social network normal registration, user get another message in email

Can you post the following:
* A copy of the email that's actually sent when you use the JFBConnect registration
Then, from the Community Builder -> Configuration -> Registration tab:
* The text in the "Pending Approval Email" setting
* The text in the "Welcome Email" setting

When using Community Builder, JFBConnect instructs CB to send the new user emails. JFBConnect does not send the emails when CB is installed. We'll need to figure out where CB is getting it's email from when we tell it to send them and fix that. The information above should hopefully help narrow things down.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello Alex,

Somehow I manage to get the email message coming from community builder.
I have also noticed sclogin module selection (SCLogin > Registration Component > Joomla/Community Builder) will affect what kind of textfield shown on user registration after when I click on any of the social login icon. Maybe this is related.

I'm a little confused by your last message.

Somehow I manage to get the email message coming from community builder.

Are you saying you fixed the email message that was being sent?

I have also noticed sclogin module selection (SCLogin > Registration Component > Joomla/Community Builder) will affect what kind of textfield shown on user registration after when I click on any of the social login icon. Maybe this is related.

What textfields are showing differently? That option should only have the following effects:
* The Login and Register buttons will go to Community Builder instead of the standard Joomla login or register page.
* Once logged in, if you are showing the user's avatar, it will be pulled from CB.
That setting should not affect the social network login functionality at all. It's not designed to change that behavior.

Can you explain more about what you mean from the above and what is, or isn't working how you'd expect?

Thanks,
Alex

Hello Alex,

I am not really good with explanation. Few days back, I have PM you my dev server with backend access
You can do a comparison with the SCLogin > Registration Component and get a better picture if this is something that needs to be fix.

From there, if I can assist in anywhere do let me know.
