I have found a simple workaround to an issue mentioned a few times on different threads but to my knowledge, never resolved.

The following article explains the problem and the solution

stackoverflow.com/questions/11197668/fb-...-flow-for-ios-webapp

I sure it will be a no brainer for you alex, give us a hand...

Ramón,
We are looking into this. It's unfortunately not just a change to one line of code as our current flow relies on the popup and the values it returns.

The 5.2 release is scheduled for the end of this month, and then, after that, we'll be focusing on this. We'll hopefully have a solution we can share shortly thereafter with some code changes here and there, but we haven't determined what those are yet. All I can recommend for now is holding tight and after 5.2, post back here and let us know you're antsy. We'll do what we can to get you an answer then.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Alex, any plans on adding this feature.

Is there any documentation for the jfbc api, so that i can code this feature myself?

We're working on implementing an option for using the OAuth redirect methods of Facebook instead of the popups. If all goes well, it will be in the v5.2.2 release of JFBConnect, due out next week.

There isn't any documentation of the low-level authentication processes of JFBConnect. You can look at the /components/com_jfbconnect/libraries/provider/xyz.php files for google and twitter to see how the OAuth process is done there, if you're interested in tinkering on your own.

If we can't get the feature implemented in v5.2.2, we'll let you know how far we made it and what issues we ran into, in case you want to take it from there. If it's not in that release, it should be in the v5.3, due out in early 2014.

Thanks,
Alex

Sorry for not responding to this earlier. We released v5.2.2 last week. In the Configuration -> Facebook tab, there's a new setting for "Show login in popup" (or something like that). If disabled, you should go through the standard redirection flow and that should work in the iOS WebApp flow.

Please upgrade, test, and let us know how it goes for you. We'd love to have your feedback!

Thanks,
Alex
