Hello,
Sorry for my English, I'm French.
I use JFBConnect 5.1.1 And Joomla 2.5.6

Registration via Facebook works very well.

Registration via Google does not.
I have two errors. ( www.moreev.com/jfbconnect_bug.png )

Google API configuration (Removed)

Google button on my site ( www.moreev.com/button_google_connect.png )

What is the problem?

thank you

kopolo,
Can you double check that you've set the Google App Id and Google Secret Key properly in JFBConnect? From the image you showed me from the Google API Configuration, you need to make sure you're using the Client ID and Client Secret keys, not the Email Address field.

Let me know if those are absolutely correct and still not working and we'll gladly help investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

Unrelated, but I'd highly recommend upgrading from Joomla 2.5.6. There are known security issues with that release and it's highly advised to move to 2.5.14 (the current latest).

Thanks,
Alex

Hello Alex,

I used well the Client ID and Client Secret keys. ( www.moreev.com/Configuration_google_jfbconnnect.png )

The error message(warning) comes from the callback function in the authenticate.php ( www.moreev.com/jfbconnect_bug_Warning.png )

On Joomla 2.5.6, I had planned to go into 2.5.14 soon.

Thank you,
Bertrand

Bertrand,
We just had another user that posted about this same issue. In that case, they were using sh404SEF and needed to go to the Configuration -> By Component area and have sh404SEF skip JFBConnect URLs. For more information, see this post .

Please let us know if that helps you or not. We'd love to hear your findings and will gladly help looking into things if it's still not going.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello Alex,

Sorry to reply so late, I was on vacation.

I no longer have the error "We were Unable to retrieve your Google account information" (view img : www.moreev.com/jfbconnect_bug.png ).

Fix: To go "Components/sh404SEF/Control panel/Configuration/sh404sef Configuration/By component/jfbconnect->leave as non-sef "

But I have another error.
The first step is good. ( www.moreev.com/etape_1_ok.jpg )
The second generates an error.( www.moreev.com/etape_2_no.jpg )
Error with Joomla Debug Console activate( www.moreev.com/etape_2_no_joomladebugconsoleactivate.jpg )

I searched the error on the internet but I have not seen another user having the same problem.

Thank you,
Bertrand

We've never seen that error before. It seems like a country restriction from Google on logging into websites. Can you tell me what country you are testing from and we'll gladly investigate further. Unfortunately, I don't know if there will be a solution we can provide if it is a restriction from Google, but we'll do what we can.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello Alex,

The domain is at godaddy.
Web hosting in OVH in France(ip : 91.121.31.109).

I tested from France.
A friend tested for the UK there is the same problem.

Thank you,
Bertrand

Bertrand,
I'm not sure why that's happening. I can see that your site is based in France and Google+ should work from there. Doing a search, the only topic I found related was this one from July from a user that couldn't get any Google App to work on the OVH network. It doesn't have any answers, but it indicates that others may be having similar issues and it's unrelated to JFBConnect.

I'd recommend contacting your hosting provider and see if they are aware of any issues connecting to Google's services from your server and see if they can provide any information.

I hope that helps get you started,
Alex
