Hey,

I am finding that the Facebook login button is causing me troubles. It isn't your fault - it is a glitch between Joomla, AEC, and JFBConnect. I have AEC set so that people need to buy a plan before they can register. So, if they use the normal Joomla channels, they are always redirected to choose a plan when they try to register. BUT, if they click on the Login With Facebook button, they automatically get registered. Then they are confused because the system won't let them login. It is a new thing that I'm finding quite frustrating. So, I'm thinking I'd just like to remove the login button altogether.

I'm not sure what you're asking then.. do you just want to disable JFBConnect? If so, that should be pretty easy.. or are you looking to remove just the button from a specific page? If so, let us know what page or how the button got there and we'll help you determine how to remove it.

Thanks,
Alex

Hey Alex,

Sorry if I was cryptic. Right now I'm just looking to remove the facebook button on the login module. (See attached image)

I had tried disabling all JFBC component/module/plugins, but I quickly saw it is a bigger job than expected. I'd have to remove all the JFBCGraph code I've inserted all over my website. I have hundreds of pages with the code embedded. As soon as I disable JFBC, all that code just shows up like text. I'll tackle that job in the future if I need to.

Thanks Alex. I've always thought JFBConnect was a great product - I just don't need parts of it anymore.

If that's the standard Joomla Login, that means you probably added that button to it yourself. Look in the following files to see if you can find the {JFBCLogin} tag, and if so, remove it:
/modules/mod_login/tmpl/default.php
/templates/<YOUR_TEMPLATE>/html/mod_login/default.php

As for not using as many JFBConnect features, don't worry about it. Sites evolve and change all the time. I hope JFBConnect helped you to grow to where you are, and I'm happy to hear you've enjoyed it to this point. We honestly don't think users should use every feature in JFBConnect.. it's meant to help integrate facebook in the best way for your site.

Best of luck, and keep us posted if the above helps.. or not :)

Thanks,
Alex

Hey Alex,

Yah - I think I did add the code somewhere way back when...I just don't remember where. I looked in the place you suggested but didn't see any of that text. So, I hopped into my admin panel, and discovered that I'm actually using SCLogin module (is that yours?). Navigating through my files, I found the only file that had reference to JFBC was in login.php

mysite.com/modules/mod_sclogin/tmpl/login.php

It has 6 JFBCLogin occurrences. But, none inside the brackets {JFBCLogin}. Am I totally looking in the wrong area?

That's one way of doing it. As for the SCLogin module, yeah, that's ours and would explain where the Login with Facebook button was coming from. You could have disabled that and enabled the standard Joomla Login module as well.

If you need anything else, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
