I don't even know where to start. I suppose with login, I have tried both Normal Registration and Automatic Registration - I get an error:
The words you typed did not match the ones displayed. Please try again. Question, is it supposed to log me into my facebook? It does after about 20seconds.

I used the debug facebook and got some errors, errors I really don't understand like:
Like Button Tag Missing: og:image is missing. The og:image meta tag is necessary for Facebook to render a News Feed story that generates a high click-through rate.

Inferred Property: The 'og:image' property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Small og:image: All the images referenced by og:image should be at least 200px in both dimensions, with 1500x1500 preferred. (Maximum image size is 5MB.) Please check all the images with tag og:image in the given url and ensure that it meets the recommended specification.
og:image should be larger: Provided og:image is not big enough. Please use an image that's at least 200x200 and preferably 1500x1500. (Maximum image size is 5MB.) Image 'rawrain.com/images/stories/demo/rotator/logo2.jpg' will be used instead.

Do those even matter? And if so I don't know where to change them....

And each time I read a 'item' the notification pops up letting me know it has been added to my timeline. But it does this every time I read the same 'item'. Even though I have it set to once only, and when I do check my timeline it is not there.

I am just so confused and frustrated. Your documentation is great, but I think I am just too 'green' to get any of this. I am not a developer or a website builder, I am just a mom trying to set up a new business =\

I must doing something really wrong if I can't even sign onto your demo site lol.

Any help would be great!

Something else I have noticed. There is the word 'Error' showing behind the like button on the home page. See the picture below. And when this error is showing, there is empty white space below the footer. Oddly, after a few seconds both 'error' and white space will disappear.

Edit:
I added:
{JFBCSubscribe} To a Custom HTML module...Figured out I can't do this. Alrightly then, 1 down, 100 to go lol!

Carrie,
Sorry to hear you're having issues getting things going. Hopefully, I can help answer your questions and get you moving quickly.

The words you typed did not match the ones displayed. Please try again. Question, is it supposed to log me into my facebook? It does after about 20seconds.

It sounds like you have "Captcha" enabled across your site. That could be the built-in Joomla captcha (configurable in the Joomla Global Configuration area) or a 3rd party extension. I'd recommend disabling that and testing again to see if you can get things going. We should be able to help you re-enable captcha if you'd like to continue using it, but for now, it's best to test and get things going without it.

Once that's disabled, yes, it should log you in with Facebook to your Joomla account (and creating one for you if it's your first time logging in).

Open Graph Images
There's a few ways to add the og:image tag to pages on your site. The og:image tag is how you tell Facebook what image should be used in any news feed posts about your site for that page. In general, it's just a catchy way to draw attention to any content of yours that shows in a user's Timeline.

There are a few ways to add the tags:
* Simply enable the Open Graph - Content plugin that came with the JFBConnect zip file you downloaded. Once enabled, on any Joomla Content (article) pages, the first image in the article should automatically be chosen
* You can also add the following tag on any page to explicitly set the image tag for that page. That's good for fine control of the image that's used on any key pages:
{SCOpenGraph image=http://yoursite.com/link-to-image.jpg}
Obviously, replace the yoursite.com and link-to-image.jpg with values relevant to your site

Open Graph Actions

And each time I read a 'item' the notification pops up letting me know it has been added to my timeline. But it does this every time I read the same 'item'. Even though I have it set to once only, and when I do check my timeline it is not there.

That's normal. Per Facebook's guidelines, on pages where automatic actions (like 'reading an article') have been posted to the user's Timeline, the user *must* be made aware on that page if they return to it. So, JFBConnect is simply following Facebook's terms and notifying the user that that page was added to their Timeline in the past.

You may not see the news story feed on your actual Timeline, that's up to Facebook to determine when and how it should be shown. If you go to your "Activity Log" (via the button in the bottom right of your cover photo), you should see an entry there for the action (You read an article...)

Also, for Open Graph Actions, once setup, you do need to submit the action to Facebook for approval before other users (instead of just administrators of your Facebook application) can have those actions post to their timeline.

Like 'Error' message
That 'error' text is actually a link. If you click it, you should get a popup explaining what's wrong. Let us know what it says. There's lots of possible issues, but most are minor and easily fixable.

{JFBCSubscribe} to custom HTML module
This should work. The JFBCSubscribe button needs a href parameter as well though. When the user is 'subscribing', they are subscribing to a Facebook user profile in order to get news feed updates for that user. If you don't specify the href parameter, it won't work. So, it should look something like:
{JFBCSubscribe href=https://www.facebook.com/zuck}

I hope that helps. Don't worry at all about the 'green' questions.. that's what we're here for. Facebook integration can be complex. Once you tackle a few issues, it should get much easier. We'll also be here along the way as you have questions.

Thanks,
Alex

Thank you so very much for replying on this long weekend.
I found that if I disabled K2 captcha on login it works. Perhaps you could help me enable that.

As far as open graph, well this is where I just can't seem to get it.

alzander wrote: * Simply enable the Open Graph - Content plugin that came with the JFBConnect zip file you downloaded. Once enabled, on any Joomla Content (article) pages, the first image in the article should automatically be chosen

I did this when I first installed it. Same for open graph-K2.

I also don't understand how to submit the actions/objects to facebook. I can't click on the 'submit' on facebook, it tells me that I need to have it published first, but how do I publish it if I can't use it? I have the same object types in JFBopen graph and facebook.
Knowing me I probably messed it up -- This is what I did.
I went to facebook developer area > app details and in there it said I needed to submit the app. Which I did (after a lot of adding pictures) then I get this message:
Your App Detail page is live and available in search. Your app does not have enough high ratings and user engagement to be approved for listing in the App Center at this time. Please view our App Center Guidelines for more information.

Should I just cancel the submission?

Ok, remember a few days ago I had asked how to create a new app, you said it has to be a personal page, which I did (thank you again), so that business facebook page I wanted to connect to my website somehow...anyways, oddly I noticed that the Page Tab is on that business page. I have to figure that one out because there is no connection between them (I am so sorry for being confusing) Now don't get me wrong, that is what I want, I just can't figure out how it happened.

In anycase here are some screen shots of my like buttons etc.

I'm not sure why K2's captcha would be causing problems. We'll have to look into that more. What registration mode are you using in JFBConnect, normal or automatic? Joomla also has it's own built-in Captcha system. Is there a reason you don't want to use that? Just curious.

For Open Graph Actions, the administrator of your Facebook application can test them all on your site. Once you've set them up, simply login to your site with the Facebook account of an administrator of your App and then you can test everything until you get it working. Once done and the action has successfully posted to your admin's Facebook Activity Log, then you can submit it to Facebook for approval. Once approved, then any Facebook users that login to your site can trigger that action. If you haven't already, check out our Open Graph for Joomla Configuration guide.

However, what you're posting about is submitting your application to the "App Center". That's different. The App Center is like the white pages of Facebook for apps. They only let apps that have been around a while and built up traffic to submit to be in the App Center.. so yeah, I'd cancel that for now. If yours is a new app, there's no way it will be approved right now.

Moving forward, the 'tab' in your Facebook Page can be done by going to the Page Tab/Canvas area of JFBConnect's admin section. In there, at the top of Page Tab is some text like "Your Page Tab application appears to be setup properly. To add it to your Facebook Page, Click Here.". If you clicked that, it allows you to add your site to your Page Tab. That's how you 'link' apps and page tabs.. it has nothing to do with the creator of the app.. so, whether you did that knowingly, forgetfully, or whatever, it sounds like you did things right :)

Finally, no problem for the help on the weekends. That's what we're here for. Thank you for subscribing! If you need anything else, just let us know.

Thank you again =)

What registration mode are you using in JFBConnect, normal or automatic? Joomla also has it's own built-in Captcha system. Is there a reason you don't want to use that? Just curious.

I have tried both normal and automatic. Oddly, I could never get joomla's captcha to work with VM2's registration among other VM2 things but that is a different story. I also wanted comments, that worked with captcha, and this led me to K2. Now that I am using your cool extension, I really don't been comments, I still would like to have captcha on K2's registration. But I had to disable it on K2 to get yours to work.

Submitting Objects
See this is where I get lost because, as I test 'Read an Article' nothing shows up on my timeline.
This is what I get:
The Facebook Actions that can optionally be posted from this site are displayed below.

Check the box next to any actions you want posted to your Facebook Timeline.
There are no timeline actions that can be configured.
And yes, I have watched your video a dozen times or more Lol.
I followed exactly what it said, and did the same on facebook. How can I test this if I can't get it to show up? There must be something I am missing...

Like works, posting a comment works even though I don't have actions set for them? Or do I need actions for these as well?

Tabs
Thing is, I did see this but my facebook page is not listed there as per the attached picture. The only one listed is my other Business page that is attached to my personal page. So I am still confused as to how the tab ended up on my non-attached business page. Don't get me wrong, this is what I want. And recently I made myself admin on that business page, still nothing. I really didn't want to start a new page, only because I was trying to go for an 'age' thing (I made that page a year ago) There is no followers or likes with it yet, and that is because I haven't advertised it. But still, I will lose that year if I make a new one =(
File Attachment:

As per the attached pictures I posted in my last post. Is there anyway to fix that? Because as it is now, you can't post a message with the 'like' button as the comments get in the way?

Alrighty, aside from the above issues, new ones seem to be popping up. It seems my extensions and joomla are not playing nice together.
First I suppose I should say I use:
VM2 2.0.20B
K2 2.6.5
JFBconnect 5.0.0
Joomla 2.5.9

Since I have dl your extension I have noticed that one of my menu items set for 'vendor' is available to all registered users, which wasn't before as it should be.
In VM2 I have it set so you do not need to register to purchase a item, yet now you have to.
Now no one can register via K2 login because of the captcha issue. I did make a post there to see if anyone has the same issue, but I doubt anyone will answer (they don't seem too responsive to posts) they really need to take lessons from you guys Lol.
My post there was as follows:

Odd thing is, it worked last week and the only thing I have done is instal JFBConnect. I was actually testing this out and decided to make a test account when I ran into this issue. Problem was, I could not get 'facebook login' to work, but I did figure out that if I disabled K2 captcha it worked fine. Problem with that is, I would end up with this message:
Empty solution not allowed.

So I followed the steps in the other post. and this is what I end up with:
The words you typed did not match the ones displayed. Please try again.

This happened no matter if captcha was empty or filled correctly

So now I am stuck without a login other than facebook =\ It just seems something is messing up with the registrations....

I so need help with this as I need to get this site live (sort of speak) by next week as that is when my product is going into stores and press releases will be sent out at that time....

Carrie,
Very sorry for the delay in getting back to this. Not sure how I missed your response above, but hopefully we can continue to help get you going!

Since I have dl your extension I have noticed that one of my menu items set for 'vendor' is available to all registered users, which wasn't before as it should be.

I'm not sure how JFBConnect could be doing that. We don't modify menu items during installation or at any other time during configuration.

In VM2 I have it set so you do not need to register to purchase a item, yet now you have to.

If you disable the JFBCSystem plugin, that effectively disables all JFBConnect functionality. Can you do that and see if registration is still required. Again, there isn't any reason that JFBConnect should be requiring registration, or affecting VM shopping at all, really.

K2 Captcha

I'd continue to recommend leaving this disabled while you have issues. We do have it on our to-do list to investigate, and hopefully should have some more knowledge on what's happening later this week.

I hope the answers above help get you going some more, but if you have questions, absolutely let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

I did as you suggested and VM is still acting up (which is nothing new lol) I guess, I'll leave it as they must reg. first.

But, with this disabled, my 'Vendor' menu doesn't show up, which is what I want. When I enable this, the menu shows to all registered users, which I don't want.

Edit: Don't forget about the post above this one =)
