Hi Alex,
during these days I continue to read trying to understand how Facebook work, but I have to say that more I read more I'm confused!

To run JFBConnect on my site "A" I have to Create a Facebook Application:
www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/conf...application-creation
developers.facebook.com/apps

But an Application is not a Page, isn't it? So, creating that there isn't a page for my site "A" on Facebook, isn't it?
So, How to create that page?

If Applications and Pages are not the same thing, What are the differences?
What is exactly a page ? www.facebook.com/pages/create.php

Many Thanks for help

An application is what you use on your site to let user's interact with your website... like registering and pulling in their profile information.

A Facebook Page is a place on Facebook.com that user's can Like, there is an activity stream where you can post updates, and you can generally interact with some 'fans' of your Page there. An example of a Page is:
www.facebook.com/SourceCoast

You can have either an Application or a Page or both. There is no direct relationship between the two. One is more website focused (the Application), the other is more of a gathering area for people to quickly get information in a standard view since all Pages generally look the same.

Your link to create a Page is the correct way to create a Page.. if you want one.

Hope that helps explain, but if you need more help, let us know,
Alex

So, some of the JFBConnect plugins are for my FB Application,

but most of the modules www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/conf...h-the-sclogin-module are for a Facebook Page independently if I have or not an Application

Is it right?

Almost all modules/plugins from JFBConnect are meant to be used with your Application.. Login functionality, profile import, comments and Likes all will have benefits if you have an Application setup.

The only features that have some relationship to a Facebook Page are:
* JFBCFan - This is specifically for a Page and is meant to show the activity stream from that Page on your site and includes a Like button for that Page.
* JFBCLike - This *can* point to your Page to let user's Like your Facebook Page while on your site. The Like button can be pointed at any URL though, including each page on your website, so this isn't a Page-specific feature
* The Page Tab / Canvas integration of JFBConnect. This is a more advance feature that, frankly, most users don't and probably shouldn't use. It allows you to display your website within your Facebook Page. That can be good for branding, but really isn't overly useful unless you have a specific purpose.

Hope that helps explain some more,
Alex

Hi Alex,
In first really many thanks for your help on understand how FB work
Then, please, I'm too interested in your opinion, What do you mean/think exactly with "specific purpose"?

Seeing a website within a Facebook Page looks like:
www.facebook.com/SourceCoast/app_140333712712019

You can use your own template for that view and show any specific page of your site. An example of showing your site within Facebook is if you have a newsletter signup or even a store front. Since the user stays on Facebook.com, they're more familiar with their surroundings, which may make them more will to fill out a form or take some other action. Showing your site within Facebook can simply be a very targeted way to get a user to take an action of some sort.

Hope that helps explain,
Alex

Awesome. Hope that all helps. If you need anything else, just let us know.

Finally, if you haven't already, please consider leaving a rating and review for JFBConnect, or our support, on the Joomla Extension Directory. It's certainly not required, but very appreciated:

Thanks,

Sanjiv,
Check out our Facebook Page Tab for Joomla configuration guide which should take you through the steps. If you have any other questions, please create a new thread so that we can keep your questions organized as it's not directly related to this topic.
