FB LIKE button disappeared was created by emanuelr

A few weeks ago, suddenly the LIKE button disappeared.
Sometimes "ERROR" (in Hebrew) appears in red instead of the button.
Once or twice, there was a more detailed error message saying something about required font (on of the system fonts).

I use the plugin to add the buttons. You can find the right place, near the G+ and Twitter buttons, just above the comments box.

If you're using the Lucida Grande font in the Social Configuration of JFBConnect, that's the problem. There's a bug in JFBConnect with just that font. We recommend using any of the other fonts. The bug with Lucida Grande will be fixed with the next release.

If that's not the problem, let us know, and we'll gladly look into it further!

Hi Alex,
The font was actually Lucida, but even when I changed it to Arial, the LIKE button (K2 content) is still replaced with the word Error (In Hebrew) in red.

Sorry for the delay. I know I checked the other day and could easily find an example of missing-Like buttons. I just checked, and couldn't find a page where it didn't work. Some examples that work for me:

(That last one should work, it's just the non UTF-8 version of the URL).

Are you still seeing this issue? If so, can you provide a URL (or 2) of problem pages?

Hi Alex,
The pages you checked are fine, since two days ago. I didn't touch anything... They are under one K2 category which I set a template for ('kitchen' if you'll look into the files directory).
The pages which are under the other K2 category (based on the default template, overridden by me), still have the problem:

The code I use to add the plugins is identical in both templates:

but the location is different.

I'm at a bit of a loss. The tag you've entered is correct. The HTML that JFBConnect is putting out is correct. The pages run fine through the Facebook URL Debug Tool . The Like button works fine if I use it in Facebook's Like Button creator tool .

I even tried to add the Like button to our demo site, and it doesn't work there either. That eliminates a lot of issues like a co.il domain, Hebrew language, and other things that Facebook sometimes has issues with. There's imply no reason I can see that the Like button shouldn't work for that URL, but something within Facebook seems to be preventing Like buttons from showing on the URLs you mentioned.

This isn't something we've heard of before, and you may need to file a bug report with Facebook itself. You can do so at developers.facebook.com/bugs It's a pretty easy process. You basically just need to title the bug "Like button will not show on select pages". Then, note the pages it does work on and a few of the ones it doesn't. Note that the body output of the Javascript is empty.

Hopefully, they'll be able to help you look into this farther as there's simply nothing wrong with what you're doing.
