Hi! I've tried all of the social modules and most of them are empty or not functioning properly. My dev url is: sobek.lunarservers.com/~gerda0/

For example, the JFBCRequest that is currently visible on the home page only reads: "This is a test". I have put a link in for the image field and text in for the text field.
The recommendations show the wrong page.
The friends says: Please log in through Facebook to show your friends that use this site" even though I am logged in.
Could you take a look? Thanks!

Cyfarian,
There's a few reasons each of the issues could be happening, and are usually related. However, we need to know a little bit more about your site for a full solution. Can you let us know what version of Joomla and JFBConnect you're using?

Also, please post from the account you subscribed to JFBConnect from. Priority support is for subscribers only.

Thanks,
Alex

Much better. Nice blue bubble under your name, and with your account, we can look up your Autotune results easier as well! They all passed though.. so let's figure out what's wrong :)

For the Requests, there's a lot that needs to be setup first before they work, including your Facebook Canvas area and an SSL certifcate. Those are requirements of Facebook. There is a whole guide below just for Requests. It can take some time, but hopefully the steps will walk you through things:
www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/facebook-requests

The recommendations module will show pages from your site that the visiting user may be interested in. That's based on how many Likes a page has received and if any of their friends have Like'd those pages. For it to work, you should put your home page in the URL box of the parameters, *not* your Facebook Page address. If you want to show information about your Facebook Page, you should instead use the JFBCFan module.

For the Friends box, I can't actually login to your site with Facebook. Can you check if you have the System - Cache plugin enabled? If so, can you edit the parameters and disable the "Enable Browser Caching" setting? That shouldn't be enabled for sites with login functionality. When you can login to the site with Facebook, the Friends module should populate with your friends from Facebook that have also approved your app/logged in through Facebook. With caching enabled though, logging in can be problematic and the output of that module can be inadvertently cached to the 'logged out' state.

Finally, I noticed that you're a 501(3)c. For non-profits, we extend your subscription by 50%, so I added 3 months to your 6 month subscription. A lot of extension clubs give some kind of discount to non-profits, just so you know. They're not always advertised (ours isn't), but if we notice it or a user asks, we provide it. Sometimes we ask for documentation, in your case, it's pretty obvious. Great cause, and glad to hopefully help with our extension!

Hope that all helps!
Alex

Your support is as good, if not better, than the reviews read. Hands down the best support I've received to date for a joomla extension. I thank you.

My apologies for not fully understanding/reading up on the Request module. That makes sense.
I sent you a PM with my login info. System cache is not enabled. If you look at the article on the home page (after you've clicked on the FB login button up top) you can see that you are connected successfully because your FB icon will be there. But the Friends module is empty/stating that you need to be logged in.

I'll try other modules if I get a moment to see if the rest are/aren't working as intended. Thanks for the extension!! Very, very kind of you.

Glad to hear you're happy with JFBConnect and our support!

No problem about the Requests stuff. There's a lot of documentation, and we can definitely do a better job of locating it all (we're working on it).

As for your app, I'm actually still unable to login. The behavior is a bit odd. I click the button, it asks for permissions, but then just sits there. There aren't any Javascript warnings or other issues, it just does nothing. That's very uncommon, and I'm unsure why that would be. It sounds like you have no issues logging in. Can you try logging in with a different Facebook user to see if you can login? There may just be some setting in your application that's only allowing the admin of the FB app to login. Never heard of that, but it's all I can think of right now.

Let me know how that goes, and we'll get you setup. Would hate to have you think login functionality is working when it may not be.. maybe my computer is just on the fritz too :)

Thanks,
Alex

I was able to log in with a second account, but it didn't create a user in the user manager like it did with my FB. I see you are logged in the backend. I'll await your post as I'm sure you're poking about right now :)

Also, in Chrome it appears that no JFBConnect components are working at all. Can you replicate that issue or is it just my PC?

Jill,
Alright.. things should be better now. The problem was that your Facebook Application information was configured for your 'live' site, not the test site that you're on right now. Since you're an admin of the app, Facebook lets you do whatever you want. For us non-admins, we can't.

To fix, I went into JFBConnect Autotune. Went to the FB App area. Clicked "Refresh" and that's where I noticed the Site URL, Domain, and other settings were incorrect. I hit "Save Recommended Settings" and things look much better now. I can login correctly and hopefully everything else should go smoothly.

When you need to move this site over to your live site, you'll need to go through those same steps again. Alternatively, you can create a FB App just for testing on one site and another for the live site. Choice is yours either way.

Things look fine for me in Chrome, but if you have issues, let me know!

Thanks,
Alex
