i know i do not have jomsocial up to date - I have done modifications to jomsocial that I would loose if I update it.
Is there something that i am loosing with disabling your plugin ?

I wasn't saying to update JomSocial. Just our profile plugin which integrates JFBConnect with JomSocial.

If you disable that plugin, you're loosing the ability to import Facebook profile information from a user into their JomSocial account, including avatar. Our plugin works with JomSocial v2.0+ (and I think even 1.8). I can't imagine you modified our plugin, so that should be safe to update.

I have 1.8 - i purchased the latest jomsocial - and there appears no change in the User - Jomsocial User -1.8.1 plugin -
I installed the updated version.
I deleted the account and tried to login - i get this error:
Facebook API Error: Failed to connect to 2a03:2880:2110:3f03:face:b00c:0:1: Network is unreachable

Further on subsequent logins - i get the following error in chrome:

he website encountered an error while retrieving XXX.XXXXXX.net/component/com_jfbconnect/...k,loginFacebookUser/. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.

You're not looking at the right plugin. JFBConnect has profile plugins that are distributed in our big zip file. One of those plugins the JFBConnect - JomSocial Profile Plugin. If you go to Plugin Manager and set the Plugin Type to 'jfbcprofiles', you'll see the plugin I mean.

That plugin likely needs to be updated. The current version is v4.2.0. Again, if you go to the JFBConnect Overview page in the admin area, on the right-hand side, it will show you what version you have installed and what the latest version is. If you're using any version other than 4.2.0, you'll need to update it with what's in the zip package you downloaded from us (not JomSocial).
