hi,

I just upgraded JFBConnect from 4.2.2 to 4.2.3 but in Joomla backend I tsill have pending updates and it keeps telling me that my current version is 4.2.2. What I did is to download new version from your web site and install it on top of 4.2.2.... that's what your update instrucrions are suggesting.

I'm going to loose my settings if I uninstall and install it again? I couldn't figure out why your installer does not update the database but is it safe to manually increase component's version in the database and make Joomla happy? I'm pretty sure that all files are corectly updated but I can not tell if I have the database changes (if any)

You won't loose your settings if you uninstall JFBConnect. We leave everything intact, or that'd be a nightmare. Our installer does update the database. However, if you're using the Joomla Update Manager and checking there, you'll need to use the "Purge Cache" button and then "Find Updates". That should properly work. Joomla only looks for updates periodically and installing a new one outside of the Update Manager doesn't cause it to clear itself. That's a Joomla bug, not JFBConnect, but completely understand how it's confusing.

Hope that helps!

hi,

I checked my database and indeed all component's versions was correctly updated. I dind't know the update manager's issue - after purging the cache and searching for new updates it finally shows me correct results. It's really confusing to get update notifications after manually checking every single file... but that's life :)

Thank you for your time - finally my update notifications are gone.

Glad that helped. The update system is definitely improving in Joomla, but we it's still a great improvement over 1.5/nothing!

Best of luck,
Alex
