Topic-icon Attribution URL for Live Stream Module

Active Subscriptions:

None
Steps to reproduce:
1) Log in with Facebook at connectedfor.com
2) Go to the Jomsocial toolbar. Click on "Events" & select one of the events.
3) Post in the Live Stream box that appears on the right side.
4) Go to user's Facebook wall & click on app link.
Link redirects to the Canvas URL instead of the Attribution URL.
It's not a problem until you need the Live Stream box restricted to just one page or one menu item.
This issue effectively prevents the use of different boxes for different events.

First off (before I forget), the link you've added for the affiliate ID is incorrect. It should just be your ID, not the full URL. Please update that to just "253" in the parameters of the module (and anywhere else you've used it).

As for the attribution URL, my best guess is that you've used a non-secure link for the URL (connectedfor.com/events/) whereas when you go to that page, it redirects you to the secure URL. Facebook doesn't always like redirects. Can you try updating the attribution URL to be connectedfor.com/events/ and see if that helps? If not, just let us know and we'll look into it more and do some testing of our own.

Thanks,
Alex

Affiliate ID corrected & attribution URL updated. There are so many variables here (mostly on Facebook's side) that I don't think it's worth our time to make Live Stream a high priority :) I'd much rather see a Jchat component where users can login with "JTwitter" as well as Facebook rolling off the assembly line. There is currently no affordable chat component on the market that fully integrates with Jomsocial profiles and doesn't crash websites because of unclean code. If anybody can do it, Sourcecoast can.

Thank You Alex!

Robby,
Glad you fixed the Affiliate ID. We appreciate you linking to us, and want to make sure you get credit for any referrals :)

For the settings, yeah, there's a lot going on. We're always trying to simplify things, and if you ever have any suggestions for how to improve things, we'd love to hear them.

Finally, regarding your other ideas.. we're in the early planning stages of a Twitter extension now. We were hoping to have it out later this summer. While still possible, it may not be until Fall that it's available. As for chat component, do you mean so users can communicate with each other on your site? Curious as to what you're looking for specifically, but don't have any plans for chat stuff (right now) :)

Thanks, and good luck,
Alex
