Hi - I've recently setup a new website and had some issues that you've helped greatly with. I have something new going that I can't find any documentation on in Facebook, in your forum or even with a Google search.

I have an additional Facebook page that says it is the Administration Page for my website. It took me a little while, but I think I understand that this is a 2nd Facebook page that will allow me to see who likes my website and post onto their walls (as opposed to posting on the people's walls who have liked my "real" Facebook page). I do not recall making this page, nor can I edit its name or delete it.

This page is also being referenced when using the SEND feature and generating a 301 error.

Shouldn't likes from my website tie directly to my main Facebook page and not this one-off page? If you have any insight into this page I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Honestly, I don't know how you're seeing that page. That's not something I'm familiar with either.. which isn't often that something is new in the FB world to us. Can you post (or private message) the address of the page you're going to to see that dialog message?

For your other questions, the Like button on your site should be for each URL that the Like button is on. It won't reference Facebook or your Facebook Page, unless you specifically tell the Like button to be for some 'other' URL other than the one it's displayed on.

Soo... if your send button or Like button are referencing some other page (especially a facebook.com one), it means one of the following:
1) Your JFBCLike button is incorrectly pointing to the wrong URL
2) Your Open Graph tags (which the Like and Send button use for 'meta' information) are pointing to the wrong URL
3) Your site is in some bizarro world where Facebook thinks it owns it and has it's own admin interface for.. this is unlikely, but again, the image above is just new to us.

If you can post, or private message, a link to your site with a funky Like or Send button, we can investigate more.

Thanks,
Alex

Hey Alex;

The Facebook page with the admin info is: www.facebook.com/pages/STATE-OF-RED-ROCKS/358274380900383

Right now when someone Likes our website, that's the page that gets the like, not our main Facebook page (which is simply www.facebook.com/stateofredband)

Thanks - John

Gotcha. Still not sure what that message means, but I know how to make the Like button your website actually be for your Facebook Page.

If you're using the JFBCLike module, there is a "URL to Like" parameter. In there, simply use the www.facebook.com/stateofredband URL. If you're using the {JFBCLike} tag, update it to {JFBCLike href=http://www.facebook.com/stateofredband}.

If you're using the Content plugin, to automatically add Like buttons to articles, there's no way to update that to Like your Fan Page right now. Each Like button from the content plugin will be for the article/page that's currently being viewed.

Hope that helps, but if I'm confused, or you are, just let me know!
Alex

That fixed my problem for the likes. We'll see what happens in 14 days when the page is deleted.

Thanks again!

If that's the "App" page, not the "Fan Page", nothing should happen. Facebook shouldn't be deleting Fan Pages at all, so you should be good to go.. we'll see though :)

Glad we got you going, and if you need anything else, just let us know.

Finally, please consider leaving a rating and review on the Joomla Extension Directory for JFBConnect, or our support. It's certainly not required, but very appreciated!
