Share Button Error was created by sundial2k
Hi - I'm getting a returned status code 301 error when trying to use the share function. It took a while but I was able to grab a screen capture of the entire error which shows the page it's trying to go to on Facebook. It appears to be attempting to reach a Facebook page that we do not have nor do I recall configuring anywhere, ever.

Where would I go to edit this page?

Thanks - John

John,
You didn't actually include the image. When you upload it, you have to hit the green check next to it for it to go into the post.

If you can post the image, and either post or private message a link to the page the error is coming from on your site, that would help come up with a solution.

Thanks,
Alex

Sorry about that - here you go. The page that it's referring to is a page that I did make but have never used. I have disabled the send function, if I need to enable it again for troubleshooting just let me know.

Can you re-enable the Send button? I can't see it on your page, and that would help diagnose it. From a quick look, the only odd thing I see, which may be unrelated, is your body tag looks like:
<body id="page" class="page sidebar-a-right  isblog  transparency-25 system-transparent" data-config='{"animatedbg":"red","twitter":1,"plusone":1,"facebook":1}'>
Do you have some other Facebook extension running? I couldn't find it.. but if you do, can you try disabling it and then running your page through the Facebook Debug Tool for Facebook to update their information, and then try the Send button again:
developers.facebook.com/tools/debug

Hope that helps,
Alex

I turned it back on.

The YooTheme template I'm using had a social-share function in it which I just disabled.

Thanks for changing what you did. Strangely, I can't see the Send button at all now. Can you? Looking at the HTML on the page, the Send button should be showing, so that looks configured right.. but in Firefox or Chrome, I can't see it at all.

Let me know if you're seeing something different.

Thanks,
Alex

That is strange... Now that I look at it, on my Mac I see it in Chrome & FF Mac, but not in Safari. On my PC, I see it in IE and FF, but not Chrome.

Should I remove the module and reinstall?

Re-installing won't change anything. Like I mentioned, the HTML for the page is correct, so JFBConnect is putting out the right code. Something else (either your template or an issue with Facebook itself) is changing the behavior and hiding the Send button.

It seems definitely like a Facebook issue though. If I put your URL into their development tool, below, the Send button doesn't show there either. Can you test and see if you get the same results:
developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like/

Thanks,
Alex

I've made a little progress with this issue:

A month or so ago I made a fan-page which I am no longer using and that is scheduled for deletion. That is the page that the JFBC is "liking" and trying to "send" when using the module. I cannot find where to edit this, change it or delete it.

I have gone as far as deleting and making a new FB app but that made no difference.

I couldn't attach this, so I'm putting it here.

The box in yellow indicates that this page (which is scheduled for deletion and is no longer used) is linked to my website and seems to be causing the problem.

Any thoughts?
