JFBCFan Problem was created by griz
I made some changes tried to modify the Facebook page that my JFBCFan module uses. Now I can nothing but the following error message in the module on my website:

"Could not retrieve ID for the specified page. Please verify correct href was passed in."

I'm sure I'm missing something basic. Can you help?

Here's my website: www.grizzledgamer.com

Thanks.

Griz

Griz,
The href that you look to be using is for a user profile page, not a Facebook "Fan" Page. The JFBCFan module only works with Facebook Pages, not user profiles. Try updating that to your FB Page, and you should be good to go.

Thanks,
Alex

I feel like a real newb here, but I've tried all sorts of different URL's with no luck. In addition to my profile, I've used the URL for my news page, my wall page and others. For example, when I log in, the page that comes up is has a URL of www.facebook.com/grizzledgamer. But that doesn't work either.

Can you somehow tell me exactly how to get the correct URL to put in the Facebook Page URL field?

Thanks.

Griz,
There is a difference between a profile page, which is what you log in as, and a 'Facebook Page', which is a special page around a company, group, event, or something similar. The JFBCFan module only lets you link to a Facebook Page, not a user profile. For examples of Pages, see:
www.facebook.com/SourceCoast
www.facebook.com/cocacola

Those are not people, they are Pages. If you want to use the JFBCFan module, you should create a Page, and then use that:
www.facebook.com/pages/create.php

Pages are meant for having people follow the page without having to be friends with everyone. It's more of a one-way connection where people Like the page. Profiles are two-way connections, where each side has to be friends with the other.

Hope that makes sense,
Alex
