Hey Alex,

I think you covered this in your documentation, but I need to confirm. I have installed EasyBlog, which has its own settings for Facebook API. I'm not sure if I should fill in that form, and create another instance of Facebook API on the site (I'm pretty sure you told me to avoid it when I was dealing with JomSocial).

Anyway, the reason I'm asking is because I'm getting weird errors, on my EasyBlog articles, with OpenGraph. There seems to be a glitch with EasyBlog (Yes, I'm asking them too, but I know you are the EXPERT :) ) where the opengraph code doesn't render correctly. If I install the code with the {JFBC...code} within a blog post , it shows up, but I'm getting a 2nd set from somewhere. And the Facebook debugger is not liking the extra og:url. If I remove the {JFBC...code}, I still see 2 sets of opengraph code. I have no idea what is going on. I know it isn't JFBCConnect causing the trouble, but I'm hoping you'll still be able to offer some guidance.

Here is the link to the blog page: www.laughablenews.com/EasyBlog/Entry/iss...-online-edition.html

Thanks Alex!

No, definitely can't have 2 apps on the same page with different App Ids. It'll be like the Twilight Zone.. you don't want to go there.

On your page, I think sh404SEF is doing something. They recently added social buttons, for some reason I can't fathom. I'd recommend disabling their social integration (don't know the setting offhand) and see if that helps.. clear cache when disabled.

Hopefully, that's all you need. Not sure what else would be doing that, other than EasyBlog, but pretty sure sh404SEF is part of it.

Good luck,
Alex

Hey Alex,

Yes, I have had SH404sef turned off for a long time. So, I can't see it being the issue. And really, it is only pages under EasyBlog that are having the issue. So, it has to be something with them. I'll just wait for some help on their forum. Thanks!

I'd check again. On the page you linked to is a big block of code from sh404SEF dealing with social widgets, and it also includes their Javascript file (sh404sefsocial.js) which re-calls the FB.init function.. which can conflict with JFBConnect.

Open the HTML and search for that sh404sefsocial.js, and you'll see the block. Not sure if it's what includes the Open Graph stuff, but it definitely seems enabled.

Geez - why have the option to turn it off, if it isn't going to work??! Kinda like "door close" buttons in old elevators...just there for show.

I will look into it, and contact sh404sef.

But, on the brighter side, the EasyBlog folks came back from their long weekend, and showed me how to hack their view.html.php file to remove all opengraph code from EasyBlog. Now all works as expected.

Thanks Alex!

Hey Alex...just to close this topic nicely, sh404sef found the problem. It was a plugin that I hadn't disabled. Extensions - Plugin Manager - sh404SEFcore - Social buttons plugin. That removed the code.

Thanks for catching it!
