Hi,

I have tried to enable the Joomla Cache function, but when I do I get big troubles with JFBC Login.... Sometimes the login doesnt work, sometimes the logout. Do you have any idea how to make your component work with enabled Joomla Cache?

Michael,
Make sure you're running JFBConnect v4.1.1. That fixed a few issues with the Joomla Cache plugin. Other than that, we test pretty heavily with and without the System - Cache plugin, so it should work. As always though, the Cache plugin should always be the last ordered (highest number) plugin in the system group.

If that still gives you issues, can you explain more by "sometimes doesn't work"? Do you get an error? Weird redirection? The button doesn't seem to do anything? Any information you can provide will help us give the best solution we can.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi,

the problem is this: When I enable the System - Cache plugin and surf a little bit on the site, so that a few pages are in the cache, and then I am on a page which has been cached, and I log in - the login works, but on the cached page the mod_sclogin module still shows the login form - non-cached sites show the right status of the module. When I disable the System - Cache plugin and just set the cache in the Joomla configuration everything seems to work...

BTW: I just updated to the newest version of JFBC...

Michael,
We'll have to do some more investigation. The System - Cache plugin shouldn't do anything when the user is logged in. It actually disables itself. The reason is that guest content is common to all users. Once someone is logged in, content changes for that user. We do a lot of testing with the System - Cache plugin enabled, and know a lot of users use it as well.. but haven't seen this before.

There's nothing in SCLogin that should be bypassing this behavior or really any reason we can think of that the login form would still be shown.

Can you let us know what version of Joomla you're using so we know we're testing the right setup? Also, if you can try another template (temporarily) and disable any other optimization type extensions that you might have installed to see if the problem persists, that will help narrow things down.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi,

I use Joomla 1.7.3 and JFBC 4.1.1 - I disabled the System - Cache plugin, but I found a even bigger problem. When I enable the Cache in the Joomla Configuration, I get a strange problem:

When I enable login redirection, the redirection works. But when I disable the login redirection the user get redirected to random pages on my site. When I disable the cache in the configuration, this problem does not occur.

Any Ideas on this?

Regards Michael

What is your setting for cache in the Global Configuration, conservative or progressive? We've never heard of this issue, and arent' sure what's causing it, but if you can let us know if the above happens in both modes, that would help.

Thanks,
Alex

Michael,
We're unable to recreate this issue on our development sites, and we haven't heard of it from any other users. We know caching is very common, so it seems like it's something specific to your configuration.

Can you post (or Private Message) us a URL that we can test with and see what's going on?

Thanks,
Alex
