Hi There,

We just migrate our site to 1.7. We installed JFB Connect just like before on Joomla 1.5. We use K2 (version 2.5.4) and enabled the K2 plugin under the social tab. Also the K2 plugin is installed and enabled. All the settings are as before but the Facebook Comment box won't show on K2 articles.

Does JFCConnect work with the latest version of K2 (2.5.4), did I make a mistake with the settings? When I install de Comments module then it works fine, but we want to integrate the facebook comments in K2 articles them selves. If K2 (2.5.4) isn't supported yet, when will this be so?

I hope to see your reaction soon so we can set it up once again.

Kind regards,

Jeroen

K2 v2.5.x is definitely supported, as we're using it on our blog on this site as well. We're not on Joomla 1.7 though, but that shouldn't be the problem.

Can you let me know the following:
* Make sure the JFBCContent - Content plugin is enabled.
* Does the comment box show up in K2 if you have the position set to Top, Bottom, or Both (try them all)?
* Do any of the social buttons (Like, Google+1, Twitter, etc) show up in K2 if you have the position set to Top, Bottom, or Both?
* In a normal Joomla Article, if you set the positions for either the social buttons or comments box, do they show up in the article?

If it doesn't work in any of those cases, can you post (or Private Message) the URL of a K2 page on your site that it won't display on?

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your fast reply! I re-installed the whole component and now it works fine. i think That something was going wrong with the first installation.

I have a other question. With a comment posted to facebook, is the first image of the article posted with that. In a earlier version it wasn't supported yet and we used a fix in the script of K2. if it's supported know I don't have to use that fix and that would be great offcourse.

Hope to see you reaction.

Kind regards,

Jeroen

EDIT: I tested this a I see that the first image of a article is posted to facebook, so this work fine. This topic can be closed!

Jeroen,
No problem for the help, it's what we do. Not sure why re-installing it was necessary, but if it works.. it works!

For the K2 image, if you're using the K2 Image tab in the article to set a 'main' image, JFBConnect 4.0 will -not- use that for the Open Graph tag. It only searches the article for the first image in the contents and uses that.

However! JFBconnect v4.1.0 will properly use the "Main" image, if set. If not, it will use the first image in the contents as before.

JFBConnect 4.1.0 will be released tomorrow.. so you may just want to wait instead of using your fix.

Good luck!
Alex
