Stuck trying to set up tab

In the Facebook developer area where you created your application, make sure the Sandbox Mode setting, in "Settings -> Advanced" is not enabled.

Then, you should be able to visit your application page at:
www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=12345
Where 12345 is the Application ID for your Facebook App.

I'm not sure why that link wouldn't work, but hopefully the above will get you going!

Ahhh. I see what's going on. Facebook has changed how all new applications are created. We'll definitely update the next release. Until then though, you can visit the following URL to add the App to your Page. Make sure that you are logged into Facebook already with the user that admins the Page before you go to this URL:

www.facebook.com/dialog/pagetab?app_id=X...next=http://site.com

You'll need to update the XXXXX with your Application ID and the URL at the end needs to be your home page.

Didn't realize the instructions for the Page Tab were out of date. I updated the Facebook App setup instructions. Thanks for pointing that out.

A Page Tab is a way to show an webpage from your site in an iFrame on your Facebook Page. Additionally, your Page Tab can have a Reveal Page, which is a different page from your site which is shown if the current viewer doesn't Like your Facebook Page.

I think you're working on setting up a Canvas, which is a way to show your website within an App Canvas on Facebook. This is a larger window to show your webpage (720px or larger), but not in anyway associated with a Facebook Page. An App Canvas is basically it's own site. My guess is that you want to focus on the settings in the "Application as a Page Tab" area.

Did you install the template using Joomla's installer? If not, how did you install it? Joomla needs to know about the template, which is only done by going through the installation process.

If you didn't install it properly, that would be why JFBConnect can't detect it and show it in the menu.
