Well, I managed to turn comments on, but they are only within the JomSocial community. They are not linked to facebook. So, it is good, but not exactly what I wanted

I honestly am not sure exactly what you were trying for. Is there a page you can point us toward to show us what is (and isn't) happening? We should be able to help you add the FB Comments widget anywhere on your site either through a module or by adding the {JFBCComments} tag to a JomSocial template file.
