Topic-icon Conflict with JomSocial

Recently I asked JomSocial about an issue with duplicate posts on my JomSocial community wall. They cam back and said that the fault was with JFBConnect, and that I should disable the JFBConnect plugins. Well, obviously I'm not doing that. But, it made me wonder if the conflict was actually coming because I FORGOT to disable one of JomSocials plugins.

The only plugin I see right away that might cause the conflict is "System - Jomsocial Facebook Connect". Should I have that disabled?

Yes, that should be disabled, but that's likely not the problem. You should also have the settings in the JomSocial config area for Facebook connect all set to "no" with the API/Secret key settings blank.

With that said, can you describe a little more about what's happening? What posts are showing up twice?
* Is it a post someone makes from your site being duplicated.. I could see this can happening with the PostToWall JFBConnect plugin enabled.. the post is on JomSocial.. we post it to Facebook.. then, the user logs in and it gets pulled back in. We have checks to prevent this, but possibly missed something.
* Is it a post that was made on Facebook? This could be from the "Import User Status" setting in the JomSocial profile plugin. Again, we have checks to prevent duplicates, but possibly some weird configuration.

Let us know some more details, and we'll help how we can. This isn't something we've heard of before, which means it's probably some configuration or minor conflict that we should (hopefully) be able to resolve quickly.

Hey Alex,

Maybe I should put this post on hold...and do a little more testing first. After looking back, I see that the duplicates occurred awhile ago...and nothing new has popped up recently (I just got around to asking you about it now...a little late). But, you may have already solved this issue in the past along with another problem I was having.

Originally I DID has Jomsocial API connect info inserted into their component...and that was a problem. It was causing all sorts of trouble.

Anyway, I'll monitor and see if anything else happens. I'll also disable that plugin mentioned above.

No problem. Let us know if it crops up. That was an issue, briefly, at one point. Hate to hear it's back again, but as JomSocial updates and Facebook changes, there's always a possibility of bugs surfacing.
