If you look at this page, www.carolinarovers.info/index.php/croc-stuff/stories, the like button is showing different results. The width on some are correct while others are not. I see this happening AFTER I like page and then unlike the same page. Looking thru Firebug, I can see on the incorrect likes, an iframe is being used to display the like buttons, etc while on those that have not been liked before, it does not use an iFrame tag and displays correctly. Not only are the widths incorrect, it also shows links for Admin Page and Insights.

Habdaddy,
I just went to the page you linked to and Liked and Un-Liked multiple articles. The Like button always seemed correct to me. I was using Chrome, not Firefox, but the results should be the same.

The Like buttons are always shown in an iFrame. That's how the button works, so I'm not sure how you're seeing it without one.

Some things to try/test:
1) Does this happen when you like/unlike all at once, or do you need to reload the page in between?
2) Do you have a lot of friends the Like the article? It's possible the show_faces param is part of the problem if a lot are shown. Try with that disabled to see if you get different behavior.

Finally, since we can't see the issue, is it possible to post a picture of what you're seeing, or describe what's happening in a little more details?

Thanks,
Alex

Actually the results are not the same. It must be something with my browser. In short, not your problem right now. I have attached a screen shot to show you what I see in Firefox.

Thanks for the quick response. It may be my browser has a configuration issue that is causing all this grief. Great product.

I tested with Google Chrome and am still getting the same issue. If you notice on the attachment above, the link line (after I like the article) displays the Admin Page and Insights link. First, am i seeing those since I am the administrator for the Facebook page? If so, that makes sense. What is troubling is the formatting for these. If these links are displayed, the formatting gets all messed up (seems to ignore the width parameter).

I found another issue but once we get this sorted out, I will bring that up.

Yes, the Admin/Insights links only show if you are the Admin of the page to be Like'd. I'm not sure why it's only showing on a few of your Like buttons, actually. We do have some changes in the upcoming 4.1 release, which may fix that. It's also possible that Facebook hasn't scanned all of your internal pages yet, so those Like buttons aren't associated with your admin yet. That can take up to a week from when you first add the buttons.

As for the width issue, you're currently set to 400 which seems like enough. It does look like you could eek it up to 425 though, just to test with. Either way though, in Firefox, I'm not seeing the issue at all. It seems to only be an issue that admins of your FB application would see (you). I'd definitely test while being logged into Facebook (in another tab or through your site) with a different user or not at all, and see if you can duplicate the problem. I don't think you'll be able too.. and if not, it's likely just an oddity of FB. Usually, these get cleared up quickly, but we can submit a bug report to them if it's really irking you :D

Hope that helps,
Alex
