I'm having an issue when a user trys to login using JFBconnect login module. Other login places including FB connect without error, so it's isolated just to the plugin.
After filling in user name, password and clicking on login the user receives an error page "500 - Controller CommunityIndex.phpController not found!"
However, closing this error page shows the user has indeed been logged in and able to continue without further hindrance.

I am using Joomdle. This extension has worked fine together with JFBConnect under previous setups with Joomla 1.5X.

I'm hoping there's a genius that can help solve this.

Many thanks in advance, Guy

Did you configured anything differently recently?

I'm not sure what "CommunityIndex.php" is, but Community is usually JomSocial related. Not saying that's the cause problem, but do you have that installed? That can help narrow things down.

The other idea is to possibly change the ordering of the User, Authentication, or System plugins. Not sure what the best combination would be, but ordering each higher or lower than others may change the behavior. No authentication, system, or user plugins should be redirecting the user doing the login process, as that would interrupt JFBConnect's full login process. Finally, the last thing to try is turning off any SEF extensions you may have installed to see if that improves things. If so, we'll help you figure out how to re-enable them.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello Alex,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I'm using Jomsocial. I went straight for the last alternative and turned off SEF extensions and that worked. No error page :) I'm using the Joomla system 1.7.2 SEF and nothing else.

Please let me know where to go from here.

Many thanks, Guy

Not sure, honestly, but glad you narrowed it down. That Community page it's going to is still very JomSocial-y. Are you redirecting users with JFBConnect to a JomSocial page? If not, can you try disabling parts of the JomSocial profile plugin to see if one of those is the issue? Start by disabling Avatar import, then status, then profile fields, and let us know if it ever starts working (with SEF enabled of course).

Sorry I don't have any magic bullets, but if you can narrow it down to a specific 'feature', we'll be able to really take off from there.

Finally, what version of JomSocial are you using?

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Actually this time around it was not so difficult to troubleshoot. I disabled Jomsocial 2.2.4 (going to update to 2.2.5 today). Also I disabled Joomdle. Keeping SEF on and these components disabled, it made no difference. I also disabled all Jomsocial extensions with the same negative result.

However, I've now noticed in the URL the JFBConnect module has two forward slashes instead of one. e.g. domain.com//index.php?Itemid=120. Removing a forward slash physically in the URL does the trick.

Could a modification to the JFBConnect module to resolve this issue?

Cheers, Guy

Got lucky!

As it turns out the combination Joomdle and JBConnect module needed a little tweaking to work.
I went to Joomdle auth plug-in and removed a forward slash in the configuration there. Tested and now it seems to be working OK!

These sorts of setups are are not for the faint of heart :)

Cheers! Guy

Guy,
Very glad you got it. Can't say I fully understand the solution (don't know Joomdle), but happy to know it's working for you.

Should you need anything else, just let us know.. and good luck!
Alex
