I am at a loss as to where to start. Any help is appreciated,

Michael,
When do you see that? Is it all the time, or just when you try to login (or do something else)? If it's all the time, can you disable the plugins (user, content, authentication, system) and see if it goes away? If so, re-enable them one at a time, and let us know what one is causing the error.

Do you have a 3rd party SEF extension installed? If so, try disabling it. If that works, try setting it to 'skip' JFBConnect URLs (each one is different, so i can't give you directions for how without knowing which one you're using).

What version of Joomla and PHP are you using?

Any answers to the above will help us give you a lot better solutions, but hopefully, something above will help get you started.

Thanks,
Alex

I see it when I try to login using the Facebook button. I don't know what an SEF is. I'm running Joomla 1.7, not sure about PHP, its on GoDaddy...

Much appreciated

I don't think I have a 3rd party SEF, couldn't see anything besides the original system SEF.

I don't know if the instructions for setting up an app on facebook is up to date, the manual fields don't look the same. I think that's where the problem is.

I reconnected each one and nothing appears on my website until I turn on the systems plug in.

You probably don't have an extension for SEF (search engine friendly links) if you don't know if you do :)

We're in the process of updating the config guide, and hoping to have the revision up by Friday. Facebook has been changing things a bit lately to prepare for the October 1st update, and we're trying to keep pace. The app creation portion has changed multiple times over the last few days and weeks.

For setting up the app, the main settings you need to configure are in the Basic tab: The App Domain (domain.com) and Site URL (www.domain.com/). Once you set those, insert the AppId and Secret Key into JFBConnect's configuration area. Check the Overview page for errors. If you have any errors there (they'll be in red), let us know.

Is it possible to post the URL of your site? Just seeing the front-end helps to determine a lot of issues.

Thanks,
Alex

www.pokerbrands.ca

There are no errors in the overview area.

Under Joomla warnings I get this message: The PHP temporary directory is the directory that PHP uses to store an uploaded file before Joomla! can access this file. Whilst the directory not being set isn't always a problem, if you are having issues with manifest files not being detected or uploaded files not being detected, setting this in your php.ini file might fix the issue.

The app has messed up my links because it doesn't seem to allow seo friendly links. Once i turn off seo friendly the app and login work. Do you have recommendations about how to allow seo friendly links and still have it work?

Can i e-mail you a login to work on it?

Much appreciated,

Michael

Michael,
Very sorry for the delay. Yes, if you could Private Message me a login to the site, that would really help. We definitely do a lot of testing with core Joomla SEF links, and with some other 3rd party links, so we should be able to get you up and running quickly.. but really aren't sure what's different about your site.

You can PM me by clicking the arrow under my picture (<----) and hitting the mail icon.

Thanks,
Alex

Michael,
Just got into your site. There were a few strange things I saw, some I could correct.. others I need more info on.

1) You had all the JFBConnect Profile plugins installed and enabled. Since you don't have Community Builder, JomSocial, Kunena, or K2 installed.. I disabled those.

2) When I enabled the "Search Engine Friendly URL", none of your main menu URL's worked. For instance, when I went to:
www.pokerbrands.ca/index.php/freepokermenu
I received an error "No input file specified."
Not sure what that is, but it may be an indicator of other issues on your site/server related to SEF URLs.
How are you enabling SEF URLs, and do they work normally for you?

3) On the JFBConnect Overview page, the "Domain URL" for your Facebook application isn't specified. You should set the "App Domain:" setting in your Facebook Application to:
pokerbrands.ca

4) You don't look to have sh404SEF installed, which is a 3rd party SEF extension. However, in your plugins manager, you have the "sh404sef - Sample component support plugin" installed. It's not enabled, so it's not directly causing issues, but if sh404SEF was installed, and not fully/properly uninstalled, that could easily be what's causing problems now.

Hope that gets you started on things to look into. Really not sure what state the site's in, but a lot of this doesn't look to be directly related to JFBConnect, other than #1 above. We'll help diagnose and fix you up however we can though.

Thanks,
Alex
