From time to time my Facebook App acts as if the CSS files do not exist. In other words all formating goes away.

This seems to be happening only on Facebook App (not on the site it self). After a few refreshes (sometimes MANY refrershes) it goes back to normal.
It also happens in all browsers (IE, FF, Chrome).
I have noticed this problem in the past 2 days...

Any tip why this happens? Is it a FB issue? How can I prevent this from happening?

Thanks a lot!

Ouch! I think I solved it... Actualy it may be JFBConnect related...

I was having this problem for 30 minutes now, and on Chrome Developer Tools I noticed a "file not found problem" for "templates/system/template.css".

This made me remeber to go and configure "Display Template" on both "Application as Page Tab" and "Canvas App"... Once I choose my Template (it is the same for site, canvas and page), it started working fine.

Could the fact I never configured these setting be the origin of this problem?

(NOTE to Alex: do not be confused with my other posts, where I say I've been messing around with templates, this is a different site ;) )

Certainly, if the settings weren't saved, it's possible something odd was happening. We'll check what we do for defaults, but I really don't remember off hand.. so that's something we should look into to make sure that if values have never been saved.. what happens.

As for the system/template.css file, that's something that normally comes with Joomla and actually should exist. We don't include it in any way, but many templates do by default. The styles in that file are the generic look for system messages (the blue and red ones) and a few other generic Joomla styles. I honestly think that should be found on your system, but you may have things changed in ways that it's not necessary.

Let us know if you're still having issues,
Alex

I think that the problem is that I did not got and set up specific templates for Canvas and Pages Apps. I also guess most users will forget about that also.

The "system" template exists on my site, but it does not have a "template.css" file on its collection. Eventualy, at some point, when on Canvas or App, the component will look for an empty / non existent template, and defaults to system...?

Anyway, this is not a problem... as long we remember to setup the Canvas and Pages templates.

Yeah, I guess that's something we'll have to look into more. Since we don't let the user set 'none' in the drop-down, and we assume they'll click "Save" on that page, it means 'something' should be set.. but agree, we should default to something better.

We've added it to our tracker (low priority), but will likely make it into the next 4.1 release.

Thanks again for the feedback!
Alex
