Is there any way to configure it to get the additional LinkedIn, Twitter, and Google +1 buttons to show up when using the {JFBCLike} tag? I can see them appear in articles, but nowhere else. I'd like to get them to appear in various component template, just as the Facebook like button does when using the {JFBCLike} tag.

Not yet. Right now, it's just in the Content plugin. We'll be adding the extra social buttons to the {JFBCLike} tag (or something similar) in the 4.1 release.

Hope that explains, and hope you can live with it for now.

Thanks,
Alex

I was about to post this exact issue. Annoyingly for me I removed all the code that created the buttons previously so that there would be no clash with the nice new shiney JFB setup. Guess I'd best start putting it all back now then!

any ideas when 4.1 is planned for?

We don't have an estimated timeline for 4.1 yet. Now that 4.0 is out, we're currently scoping out and planning the 4.1 and 4.2 releases. If you look at our history though, we generally come out with minor (x.y) releases every 1-2 months, so it will be out later this year, but can't narrow it down more than that.

Thanks for your feedback, and glad you're liking the new features.. and JFBConnect gets better with each new release, and 4.1+ will continue that trend.

hi all,

I dont mean to hi-jack this thread but it is somewhat relevant, and I wanted to ask here instead of starting a new topic.

I have been going through all documentation and settings but I couldnt figure out how to display LinkedIn, Twitter and Google+1 icons next to FB Like as shown on the demo article 1, on top of the article (demo.sourcecoast.com/ ).

Please can you briefly explain or give a link to the right page?

many thanks

The option to include the Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google social buttons is in the Social Configuration area of JFBConnect and then on the Content Plugin - Like / Like K2 tabs. There's an option in there for "Show Twitter/GooglePlus Buttons".

Hopefully, that's all you need, but if you have any other questions, just let us know!

Hi Alex,

thank you for your help. I havent seen that option there, my fault.

I have enabled those options but it doesnt show any of them icons, only FB Like and Send buttons are displayed.

Currently Im using the JFBCLike module to show FB Like button. I also tried inculding {JFBCLike} in one of the articles and the result was the same.

I have enabled system and content plugins.

PS. I might still be missing something here as I couldnt find anything to configure for Twitter, for example.

alpertheidiot,
Now that question is right on topic for this thread! :) Unfortunately, the new social buttons for Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google are only available when using the content plugin to automatically add that to your Joomla articles or K2 content.

In the 4.1 release, we'll definitely have a way to add it in a more customizable fashion, through the JFBCLike module or {JFBCLike} tags.

Hope that explains,
Alex

thanks Alex, I got what you mean..

an off topic question, is there any possibility of using your component to promote a profile as oppose to a page? I cannot convince one person to have a "page" and wants to stick with "profile".

thanks

Nope. Facebook doesn't really allow promoting of profiles, as they want to keep 'friends' and 'likes' as different things. Friends are 'personal' relationships between the user and their real friends. Likes are for Fan Pages, and other things where the relationship may not be in both directions.

They won't be changing this anytime soon, and we don't expect them to ever create any widgets that will be meant to make 'friending' someone nearly as easy as it is to Like a page.

Hope that explains,
Alex
