Redirect loop was created by fb_1082742985
Hi,

I have installed Joomla 1.7, Latest CB and JFBConnect. Enabled CB integration.

Now every time I view the page without being logged in, everything is fine, except for the repeated line of "Automatically logging you in with your facebook credentials" and "Your email has not been confirmed". (and it doesn't log me in obviously) (see pic attached). For the rest I can do anything a non registered user can do.

If I AM logged in in Facebook, or if I click on the login with facebook button, the page enters a redirect loop.

Any help is appreciated, even admin access via PM.

(Set this as a bug, although I am sure it's a configuration problem)

Ingmar,
In the CB integration, make sure you've enabled the 'Skip CB Activation' setting. That will automatically confirm the user's email address, since it's likely coming from Facebook and has therefore been confirmed by them.

If you don't skip the CB activation, then you should disable the "Automatically Log In Facebook Users" setting in the main configuration area. That's because JFBConnect will try to log the user in, and if CB denies that login, then the process starts over. This latter part is a bug that we have plans to fix (only try to auto-login once), but can be fixed through fiddling with the configuration settings above.

Hope that helps, but if not, let us know. Also, note that for the user you're currently trying with, you'll want to either manually confirm their email address or delete and recreate the user as the Skip CB Activation setting will only happen when new users are registered. It won't affect any previous users registered through Facebook/JFBConnect, so they could still run into this issue.

Good luck,
Alex

Hi Alzander,

Trying what you suggested but it still doesn't work correctly (tried both ways). Menu's do not appear, double activation emails and so on.
E.g. with the current settings I get a redirect to the following page on first login.

www.hondenschool-habitus.info/index.phpindex.php?Itemid=1

As you can see, it mentions index.phpindex.php. Could also be ACESEF problem of course, although evrything worked when using normal login and activation (without JFBConnect and CB)

If you want, I can give you admin details for login by PM so you can verify yourself.

You can reinstall, create users, delete users, whatever you want.

(Although the frontend is in Dutch, almost all of the backend is in English)

OK, fiddled a bit with the settings, but it still does not work as I expect it. Here is what I have set:

User Manager Options: Allow user registration --> YES
User manager Options: New user account activation --> ADMIN
CB Configuration, Registration tab: Allow user registration --> Same as global ‘allow registration’ site setting
CB Configuration, Registration tab: Require admin approval --> NO (as this is set in User manager Options thru the Admin setting)
CB Configuration, Registration tab: Require email confirmation --> NO (as this is set in User manager Options thru the Admin setting)
JFBConnect Configuration, User tab: User creation --> Full Joomla User
JFBConnect Configuration, User tab: Skip Joomla User Activation --> No
JFBConnect Configuration, Login/Logout tab: Auto Login Facebook Users --> YES
JFBConnect Profiles, CB tab: Skip CB activation: --> Skip

Now what I expect from this is that a Full Joomla User is created, using JFBConnect, that an email is sent with an activation link for the new user, and that after activation, an email is sent to the admin to approve. And finally and most importantly, that the user is NOT able to log in until all this has been completed. When all this is done, a returning user auto logs in through his facebook details.

Instead I get:
The following text:
Facebook profile successfully connected.
Your account has been created and a confirmation link is send to your email address. Before you can login, you have to confirm your email by clicking on the link. An administrator will then activate your account.

So far so good.

But I also get "Automatically logging you in with your Facebook credentials", with an Edit profile page. And upon going back to the main page, the new user is logged in (without activation mail link clicking and without admin approval)

I also get TWO mails, one with the activation link AND another one with the login details and the mentioning that the account has been activated.

Changing Skip CB activation has no effect at all, it does exactly the same thing.
Changing Auto Login Facebook Users to No, does exactly the same thing, with the exception that one DOES need to click the activation link. However, there is still no admin approval needed, and the first mail send still says that the account has been activated.

What am I doing wrong here?

Ingmar,
We're looking into this to recreate with the settings you mentioned above. We'll let you know what we find, but it may take about a day to get you an answer (with hopefully a solution).

Thanks,
Alex

Daniel/Ingmar,
If you want to Private Message us a set of super admin credentials to your admin area, we'll gladly see if there's anything obvious there that we can see.

Otherwise, we'll let you know when we find anything from our testing.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alzander, I just sent you the credentials.

Now, I did something I don´t know what, and the redirect to the other page dosent happen anymore. But the user have to login twice with Facebook to work.

Thanks a lot.
