When I try and install the component the resulting installation page is littered with errors. I have included a list of the errors on the error page as an attachment. My host thinks it may be because Joomla is running on Windows. Is this the case?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Joomla in general can have some issues on Windows servers, but generally will work as long as your using MySQL (not MS SQL as the database). JFBConnect is developed on both Windows and Linux servers just to test these types of issues.

There was no attachment for your post, so I can't see what errors you were seeing, but if you can paste or re-attach them, it may help narrow down the issue.

Thanks,
Alex

##text##

Did this come through? I didn't click the little "insert" button last time. Sorry.

Joomla set up the db. Couldn't that only be a MySql server?

Scott,
I've never seen that admin template before, but from what I can see on the page you sent, there's a few things to note:
1) You're using Joomla 1.6.0. We did no testing with that release, and everything was done with Joomla 1.6.3. Between 1.6.0 and 1.6.2 there were over 200 bug-fixes (and about 25 mid-level or higher security fixes). It's possible one of those affected windows installations.
2) Make sure that your permissions are setup correctly for the administrator folder, which is where things are installed. It's possible that the installation of the module and plugins couldn't happen because the directory (com_jfbconnect/packages) is unwriteable.
3) If the admin template (or Joomla itself) is customizing the functionality of Joomla in any way, please try using the standard Joomla Admin template or reverting any custom modifications to the Joomla core you may have made.

Hopefully this helps. I think #1 is the biggest issue above, but it could be anything. We really have seen this report before, so don't know of a specific cause.

Alex

Brilliant! It seems to have installed perfectly after updating the Joomla! core. Thanks for your help, Alex.
