I have a Joomla site running v2.5.16 and JFBConnect 4.3.4 and want to migrate to Joomla 3.x.

JFBConnect seems to be causing problems with the Joomla update (not surprising I guess since it is an old version). I'm doing the migration testing on a development server so could that be part of the problem? I was thinking I'd just uninstall it and install the current version after migrating the site, but when I try to uninstall the component, I get the following:

Warning: require_once(/home2/xxxx/public_html/dev_folder/components/com_jfbconnect/libraries/facebook.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home2/xxxx/public_html/dev_folder/plugins/system/jfbcsystem/jfbcsystem.php on line 50

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home2/xxxx/public_html/dev_folder/components/com_jfbconnect/libraries/facebook.php' (include_path='.:/opt/php53/lib/php') in /home2/xxxx/public_html/dev_folder/plugins/system/jfbcsystem/jfbcsystem.php on line 50

Once I get the error I have to restore the site from backup because I can't get past it. If I renew my subscription and update JFBConnect first, would that allow me to do the Joomla upgrade?

Thanks,
Ed

Once you have restored it from your backup, before you try uninstalling, try disabling the JFBCSystem plugin, and any other JFBConnect modules or plugins (such as any plugins in the JFBCProfiles group, Open Graph group, the JFBCContent, Authentication and User plugins), and even the JFBConnect component first. Let me know if that helps.
