To dream the impossible dream...

I've woven together several components and an outside email blast service in my Joomla. I use Community Builder to manage Joomla users.
I've just added the JFBConnect component and everything's working great, except the link to the outside email list (MailChimp). Is it possible for JFBConnect's 'Register' link to direct people to my existing registration page (that also let's them subscribe to emails)? Of course, first time Facebook connectors would also have to be directed to that page. I'm guessing that my request would prevent Facebook ID data from being gathered in the Community Builder db. If you can't propose a solution, I'll talk with the guy who designed the MailChimp integration module to see if he can help.

My website is: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="www.LehighGOP.com">www.LehighGOP.com

Thank you,
Scott Ott

Sorry, apparently the Register for This Site link already goes where I want it to. But when a new FB user goes through the connect sequence and gets the login or register page, that's different.

Yes, I still need help.

If I can use the standard register page, it will allow users to create an account (automatically enabled and approved upon confirmation), sign up for my email list, create a record in my constituent relationship management (CRM) tool, and, of course, login using Facebook.
Something's gone awry, since when my wife experimented with the registration process the confirmation email she received looks broken...

Thank you for applying for registration with us. We have
received your request and we will process it as soon as you
confirm your email address by clicking on the following
hyperlink:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="www.lehighgop.com/index.php?option=com_c...confirm&confirmcode=">www.lehighgop.com/index.php?opti ... nfirmcode=

Once your email address is confirmed our moderators will be
notified to continue the activation process.
You will be notified by email of the progress of your registration process.

Shouldn't there by a number...a confimation code at the end of that URL string?

Thanks,
Scott

Scott,

Sorry if I seem like I'm repeating everything, but I'm just trying to understand your issue and things keep changing.

1) Registration - At some point, the user will need to click a Facebook Connect button to log in to Facebook and then we can forward them anywhere. This is a Facebook requirement and kind of out of our hands. Can you describe how you would like this to be tied into your current registration and we will see what we can do?

2) Is that email from your normal registration or registration with JFBC? If it's with JFBC, can you go through your normal process and make sure it has a code?

Again, sorry for not being able to give you an answer, but I think if I understand what you are looking for better, we can avoid some confusion.

Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for trying to help me.
The email comes from Community Builder. The link in the confirmation email appears to be missing a variable at the end:
http&#58;//www.lehighgop.com/index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=confirm&confirmcode=
And here's the message that appears on my website if you click that confirmation link in the email.

You are not authorized to view this page!
You need to log in.

To walk you through the process I'm trying to establish...
Here's the registration screen the user sees after connecting via JFBConnect.

Ideally, that user would go to the Community Builder registration page instead, which allows them to be added to our MailChimp email list as well (via an API module called allChimp integrated with Community Builder).

My Community Builder Registration tab confirguations are set as follows...
Picture 9.png

When everything works right...
a Facebook user connects (with JFBC) >
Creates a LehighGOP account via Community Builder>
Signs Up for our MailChimp list (with the check box on the registration form) and >
Simultaneously, is added to our Constituent Relationship Management tool (a Joomla component called CiviCRM).
...all with a single user registration page.

Let me know if this doesn't make sense. I would hate to drop anything from this process...but since it was working before JFBC, that would have to be the first thing to go if there is no other way. However, I'm convinced there is a way...and you might be just the genius to create it, or show it to me.

Thanks,
Scott Ott

I have having the same issue - there is no confirmation variable in the confirmation email, so users are not confirmed in CB. any word on that yet? I suppose you could just turn confirmation off, but I think that would open you up to false registers.

This has been reported a few different times and I am still investigating a resolution. Sorry for the delay. I will let you know once we know more.
