Hi there,

I have the JFBConnect button set up on my site, this was previously working. Users could log in with their Facebook account but now for some strange reason it does not want to log in anymore. Once clicked the login button a popup will appear and disappear within about 2 seconds and the page just refreshes itself without redirecting to the desired login page.

Need your help please!

Cheers

Alex,
That's usually an indication of either a Javascript issue or a Facebook Application configuration issue. Can you go into Autotune in the JFBConnect Admin area, go to the FB App, and then hit "Refresh" in the main button area. That will refetch all your configuration settings and get the newest recommendations we have available for apps. If you see anything wrong, especially with your App Domain or Site URL, fix it.

If that doesn't help narrow down the cause, can you let us know the URL that you're trying this from and we can help diagnose/test further.

Thanks,
Alex

Okay, just went ahead and did that, everything seems to be set up perfectly in the configuration settings etc. I don't know why it decided to stop working, maybe conflicting with another plugin?

URL is rezonation.co.nz

Cheers

Alex,
When I click the Login With Facebook button on your site, the popup comes up with "An error occurred. Please try again later.". That's almost always a sign of an App misconfiguration. Not sure what the problem would be. Can you check if your Application is in Sandbox Mode? You'll have to check that in the actual Developer area of Facebook as that's not a setting we can configure through Autotune.

If everything else in Autotune is correct and the sandbox mode is off, I'm actually not sure what the problem may be. Just let us know though, and we'll do what we can to help you get it going.

Thanks,
Alex

I haven't had that error occur yet. I've just disabled sandbox mode in the developer Facebook area. Everything else seems to be correct. I tried logging in with another Facebook account and that seemed to log me in just fine. I don't know if it's just my Facebook account that wont let me log in or not. Like i said before it was working previously and I hadn't changed any settings for this to mess it up. Can you try log in with your Facebook?

I'm still seeing that message, but it could be because the Sandbox mode change hasn't propagated. When in Sandbox mode, only admins can login; other users (like me) would see the An error has occurred message.

Not sure what would be wrong now. Everything on the page seems right. There's no conflicts that I can see, but it's definitely not working for me. Do you have any regional, age, or other restrictions on the app? When you try from another Facebook user account, please make sure that user is *not* an admin of the app and see if it works there.

Thanks,
Alex

Okay i have totally deleted the Facebook app and created a new one. Have disabled the sandbox mode, settings look all to be correct. Tried log in with a different account that is not admin and logged me in successfully but when i try log in with my normal Facebook account it gets to the point where it says "we are using your Facebook credentials to log you in" but it just refreshes the page and doesn't log me in. So you might want to try log in with your account to see if it works now...?

Cheers

Alex,
Yes, that fixed the "An error has occurred" message. However, now I'm seeing th e problem you mention. The page just reloads and nothing really happens.

None of the normal things I look for with this issue are obvious, so I'm not really sure what the cause actually is. Would it be possible to get admin access to the site? If so, please create and send me a set of super admin credentials, along with the .htaccess password again. You can Private Message me by clicking the arrow under my picture (<----) and hitting the mail icon.

Hopefully, we can find the issue quickly and get you all setup!

Thanks,
Alex

Alex,
Think we got you going. I haven't tested everything, but when I click the Login With Facebook button I'm not properly redirected to JFBConnect's Login / Register page where a user can create their account.

The change I made was in JoomSEF. In the Manage Extensions area, I changed JFBConnect's Handler to "Default Joomla! router". That seems to have done the trick. We really only have one URL, and since it's for registration, it doesn't really need to be pretty.

Hope that helps.. but obviously test and let us know how it goes!

Thanks,
Alex
