JFBConnect seems to bring in a facebook avatar correctly because it is visible near the "Welcome and logout button, but it does not display in the jomsocial user profile/activity stream etc. I have just upgraded both Jomsocial and JFConnect to the latest versions, run system/permissions check etc... any thoughts??

The avatar image that shows in the login module is pulled directly from Facebook on page-load. It's not an indication that the avatar has been actually pulled into your site.

So... if you're not seeing the avatar in JomSocial, it's likely because it hasn't been saved to JomSocial properly. Please check the following:
* You have the JFBConnect - JomSocial Profile plugin installed and enabled
* In the Profiles area of JFBConnect, you have it set to import the users profile
* Your /tmp and /images directories are writeable (You can check this in the System Information -> Directory Permissions area)

If that's all correct, can you let us know if any other profile fields are able to be imported into JomSocial? That will help narrow down where the issue may lie if there is one.

Hope that helps get you started,
Alex

I have checked all the settings you listed and they are correct. I have also selected the All in Show Profile Fields and am not seeing any of these in the profile. Do I need to have the avatar, profile options set to yes or no in the Jomsocial Facebook Connect? I have tried both ways and it doesn't seem to affect the results.

You should have the Facebook JomSocial Connect integration disabled completely. To do that, simply remove the API/Secret key from their settings and that should do it. Feel free to put the other options to 'no', but I think they are ignored when the API key is blank. Looking at your site, the keys seem to be blank.

I did just click the Login With Facebook on your site and was brought to the following page:
index.php/component/jfbconnect/?view=loginregister&return=L2luZGV4LnBocC9jaGVlci1uZXR3b3Jr

Once there, I was seeing additional JomSocial fields to be filled out. I filled them out and my info was saved along with my avatar. One thing I did notice during registration is that it looks like you are using Kunena v2.0 and have the Kunena/JFBConnect profile plugin enabled. We haven't upgraded our profile plugin to support Kunena v2.0 yet (it just came out about a week ago). Right now, we'd recommend disabling that plugin. That may be part of your issues with logging in and updating the avatar, just so you know.

We're hoping to have a Kunena v2.0 compatible plugin out later this month.

Hope that all helps, but keep us posted on what you find! Also, feel free to delete my user/profile from the site.
Alex

Thanks so much for checking into this...
I followed the steps as you did with a new account on my site and it did work fine for me as well... seems like it is only existing users that are not getting info/avatars pulled in... so I am not sure if perhaps Jomsocial is not updating the info or ??

I'd really suggest disabling the Kunena profile plugin and testing again. It may be throwing errors with the login process only (and not interfering with registration). If you are using Kunena v2.0 (I can't tell) you should not enable that plugin until we come out with an update later this month.

If you disable the profile plugin and still have issues on login, let us know!

Thanks,
Alex

Alright, at least we're making some progress knowing that registration works since that eliminates a lot of possible problems.

Can you verify once again that you have the following settings enabled in the Profiles area of JFBConnect:
* Import Avatar - Yes
* Always Import Profile Data - Yes

Let me know, and we'll do some more testing on our end to see if we can recreate it. Unfortunately, this isn't something we've heard from other users, which makes it more difficult to track down.

Thanks,
Alex

I have been checking my user map in JFBConnect - are the members listed here only members who are using Facebook to register on my site?
The avatars are showing up correctly in this admin area. I also have a concern - my admin log-in is showing up here even though I never use FB to connect to my admin profile ( I have a separate profile I use to log-in with FB)...??
