This is so crazy and it is out of hand. We are loosing comments and visitors.

I have done exactly what you have told me to do and it still is posting the wrong image. All we are trying to do is post the articles on this page to Facebook with the correct photo: www.edibleartistsnetwork.com/Edible-Art-of-The-Day/

This is not working.

The login details are XXXXXX

This is really hurting our site.

Cheryl,
Thank you for re-enabling the Open Graph integration. Things look much better now, and look to be back to how it was when I said things were looking good on May 31st. On each article (an art listing) JFBConnect is selecting the first image from that article and setting it as the Open Graph image.

As mentioned above (4 times), to test, you'll need to use the Open Graph Debug Tool below to check what image is being used. So, for the June 2nd entry, using the Debug Tool, you'll see the output below:
developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/o...day-june-2-2012.html
In the 'og:image' section, you'll see that the first image is the one from your article. That is what will be used for Likes and Comments from that page.

So now, if someone goes to the main listing page below and clicks the Like button, the first image from the article being Like'd or commented on will properly appear.
www.edibleartistsnetwork.com/Edible-Art-of-The-Day/

Please note, again, as mentioned above (2 times), Facebook may take 2-4 days to update it's data. So, Likes or Comments over the next few days may still be incorrect. You can use the debug tool to check that the image is indeed correct though. If you switch off Open Graph support again or change some of the settings, that will delay things from working correctly.

If you find a page where the Debug Tool above doesn't show the right information now or Like button doesn't use the right image or description after a few days, just let us know and we'll gladly look into it more. Please tell us the exact page you were performing an action on and what the 'destination' article/link is that you are Like'ing or Commenting on so we can test exactly as you are.

Thanks,
Alex

Why would this be? This is not the case with the component we used before.

The Open Graph tags are cached by Facebook and refreshed (usually) every 24 hours. Sometimes it can take longer than this though depending on a lot of factors. The first time a page is 'seen' by Facebook, when you first put a Like or Comment box on it, they will fetch the data immediately. However, if you make changes to those tags (like we've been doing when enabling/disabling or setting different explicit tags), those updates will take at least a day to propagate.

We always say 2-4 because we've seen it take that long in the past, and some users get impatient. If you use the URL Debug Tool, that has the bonus of updating their cache immediately as well. However, it's not realistic to do that to every page on your site every time you change a tag.

Hope that makes sense,
Alex
