Hello,

I am just about finished with integrating JFBConnect into my website. :) I have the Like, Comment, Recommendations, Recent Activity, Send, and Login stuff working well. However, when I enable the Subscribe and Request modules, they display nothing in them. Likewise, if I place these tags in my content, nothing shows.

I created a "personal" Facebook account that is related to the website, which can be found here:

www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003763398626

It's regular name is "Centralok Primetimers".

For the "Profile URL to subscribe to" field in the JFBSubscribe module, the above URL does not help. I noticed in your "Features" example it shows "href=https://www.facebook.com/zuck". Am I used the wrong URL to point to our Facebook account? The JFBRequest module has a "Request ID" field, but I do not know what to put in this field.

I noticed the "JFBCFeed" and "JFBCLike" modules display a login button and "You need to be logged into Facebook to see your friends' recommendations/recent activity" if I am not logged into Facebook at the time. Is there any way to suppress this message from displaying in these modules?

Lastly, can you tell me what the "JFBConnect - FB Wall Integration" plugin does? I currently have this disabled.

Thanks again!
Tom Hammond

Tom,
Hopefully I can answer all your questions!

For the Subscribe button, in your Facebook account, go to "Account Settings" and then "Subscribers". In there, there is a checkbox to allow users to subscribe to your Feed. We need to document that better in JFBConnect, but also wish Facebook would simply put a note in the area that the user doesn't have subscriptions enabled (instead of hiding the box).

For the Request module, you first need to create a Request in the "Requests" area of the JFBConnect admin section. Then, there is a column next to each request with the ID for that request. Use that. For more information on Requests, see:
www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/facebook-requests

For the JFBCFeed module (Recommendations or Live Stream as well), there's no way to hide the Login button.. it's meant to show personalized information from Facebook for the current user. If you're not logged in, those modules will show 'general' messages, but they can't be personalized (obviously). The Like button shouldn't show a Login button at all, unless clicked and you aren't logged in.

The FB Wall Integration plugin is for if you have JomSocial installed. It will allows posts that your users make into the JomSocial Activity Stream to be also displayed on their Facebook wall.

Hope that all helps!
Alex

Hi Alex,

As always, thanks so much for your prompt help! The support alone is worth the cost of JFBConnect as the support is excellent! Where do I go in the SourceCoast website so that I can post a review of your product?

One last question, then I am finished. :) As I understand it, the Facepile module shows people who have liked pages on my website or have logged into it via their Facebook accounts and my Facebook app. Is there any way to show a Facepile of ALL friends in the club's Facebook account, regardless if they used the app nor liked any pages? My website is for a club, so I want club members to be able to see each other from my website, as they are all "friends" of the Facebook account that I created for the club. Maybe this is not possible until they approve the Facebook app first, but still would be a nice feature to have.

Thanks again!
Tom

Tom,
No problem for the help.. it's what we do. Thank you for your subscription which allows us to keep developing and supporting our work! There isn't a place on SourceCoast to go for testimonials. The best place to leave your feedback is by far on the Joomla Extension Directory. It's viewed (correctly so) as an unbiased place for information about extensions, and is where a lot of our traffic comes from:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/social-...ook-integration/7215

As for your question about the Facepile module.. yes, users need to be logged into Facebook to see it and then it will only show friends that have approved your Facebook app. It won't show other users on your site if they haven't ever logged in through Facebook. However (!!) the current user visiting the site, if they are logged into Facebook, will see their friends that have logged into your site, even if they haven't approved the app themselves. So, it will help 'woo' prospective users by showing who is already on the site.. but only if their friends (club-members) have connected through Facebook.

Unfortunately, we don't have any alternatives for you that would do what you're looking for. Are you using any 'social' extensions, like Community Builder or JomSocial? With those extension (or others) users can 'friend' each other on your site and there are definitely extensions out there to show those users.

Hope that helps explain though,
Alex
