I'm having trouble with JFBC Subscribe. I'm working in Joomla 1.5, and I've activated the module and filled in the paramaters. The description shows up but no subscribe box to hit.

Hello,
please be sure to follow the Configuration Guide to set JFBC ready for work.

Let us know if you need help with anything else.

Yes, I have followed the guide and everything works but the subscribe. At best, all I can get is an error message to appear on the screen where the subscribe box should be. Is there something else that needs to be configured with the Facebook Apps?

Hello,
please share a link to your website or a screenshot showing the error message you're getting so we could try and help out.

Hello,
are you using JFBC Requests to achieve this "Subscribe" link?
if so, have you checked all the requirements mentioned in the Facebook Requests guide?
if not, could you please let us know how did you create this link.

rphobbs2002,
I just looked at the source code (HTML) on that page. You definitely have the Subscribe Module installed. However, it looks like you haven't specified a profile URL to subscribe to. The Subscribe module allows Facebook user's to subscribe to your (or another profile's) public feed. You need to specify the full profile URL of the user that can be subscribed to for the module to work though. For more information on how the Subscribe widget from Facebook works, see:
developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/subscribe/

If you're trying to use it for subscriptions to updates on your site itself, unfortunately, that's not possible. In that case, we'd recommend using the JFBCFan module. With that, users can see your Facebook Page's stream and 'Like' the Page from your site. Once Like'd, updates to your Page can show up in their wall-stream.

Hope that helps,
Alex

Alex,
I've just gotten back to this after a few days. I can't understand what I'm doing wrong with the profile url. I want to do the facebook page for my site: www.facebook.com/pages/PracticalDevotioncom/153254841405877
I enter that into the module, but that doesn't work. I've also tried my own personal page:
www.facebook.com/rphobbs
And that doesn't work either. In both cases, no button shows up and I get a blue colored error link. Any advice?
Thanks,
Ryan

Hello,
As Alex suggested you should first check the test site: developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/subscribe/
as you can probably see, entering both of your links (personal profile & page) do not render a subscribe tag.

We suggest first checking in your own profile settings that subscribe is allowed: www.facebook.com/settings?tab=subscribers
if not, that could explain the problem.

let us know if that helped.
