Topic-icon Login With Facebook not Longer working with Ver: 3.0.3

Hello Guys,

I was wondering if you could help resolve this issue, this feature was working perfectly until recently. I am not able to login to the site using the "Login With Facebook" buttom, version that im currently using is Ver: 3.0.3. I click on the Login With Facebook buttom, i get prompted to login, enter my credentials, then it looks like it's going through but nothing happens. I am not able to login to the registered section or facebook.

Can you please provide me with some insight regarding this issue.

Site is celebrityent.ca/ and you can replicate the issue by trying to login with your facebook account

also, when i log in to the joomla user account, the facebook reconnect buttom does not work. i click on it and nothing happens

Cochoa,
Facebook changed the behavior of their authentication mechanism in December. We've supported the new methods since our 4.0 release in October. You'll need to upgrade to a 4.0+ version (we're currently on 4.1.2) if you need authentication to work. 3.x no authentication is no longer functional due to these changes.

We also recommend you follow our blog, twitter account, or sign up for our newsletter list as we've announced the change many times over the last 6 months.

Hello,

Thank you for the information, so now i have to pay another 50 dollars to get the latest ver. Is there any sort of free patch avail? What happens if i buy the new version of JFBConnect tomorrow and facebook decides to change the way they authenticate a week later?

can you offer me any sort of discount for the upgrade? as i purchase a product that was working perfectly just a couple of months ago. i believe this is not my fault nor yours.

Those are all very fair questions. We're always adding new features to JFBConnect as well as ensuring that our features continue to work with any changes in Facebook, which do happen periodically. Facebook gives a 90-day window where they announce breaking changes to give developers time to prepare. Right now, there are no known changes that would negatively impact JFBConnect in the near future.

When you subscribe to JFBConnect, it's for a period of 6 or 12 months. During that period, you have access to any new releases that we put out over that timeframe. So, if you subscribe today, install 4.1.2, and in April, we release 4.2, you'll have immediate access to that release. We release a feature update every 3 months or so with 'big' new features, and minor bug-fix releases as necessary in the meantime. Your subscription also entitles you to our excellent support, should any issues arise.

As for discounts, we offer a 10% discount to all users with active subscriptions that want to re-subscribe and extend their existing subscription. Your last subscription expired in May of last year, and therefore would not be eligible for the discount.
