Problem with Jtext was created by 7of9
Hi,

Just downloaded the latest version. I performed an update I see the login module has changed, however there is a problem with the text of COM_JFBCONNECT_LOGIN_USING_FACEBOOK. I see the id instead of the text. I opened com_jfbconnect.ini and I see that the ID exists as:
COM_JFBCONNECT_LOGIN_USING_FACEBOOK=Login With Facebook
I even created a file called en-GB.mod_sclogin.ini and entered the above line, however the problem is not resolver.

Any ideas?

We've heard of this in another case, with a different string, and aren't sure what's happening.

There should already be a en-GB.mod_sclogin.ini file on your site (installed with JFBConnect). If not, that's strange.

Can you let us know what language Joomla is set too? Also, if possible, can you Private Message us admin access to your site as well as the page you're seeing the problem on? We'll gladly look into it more and get a solution out once we can.

Thanks,
Alex

Language is Greek. As I said, the ini file did not exist and although I created it, there was no effect. I sent you a PM with the login credentials.

If the language is Greek, the file you'd want to create would be the xx_YY.mod_sclogin.ini file for your language, not the en-GB file. Joomla doesn't 'fallback' to the English version, and will simply show the key if the file doesn't exist.

Do you have Greek language files for the mod_sclogin and com_jfbconnect files?

Thanks for the PM, and we'll try to look into this later today. Your answers/testing of the stuff above may help in the meantime.

No I didn't. Since I have no problem with the rest of the text, I figured it falls back into English and so I did not create the Greek file. In my opinion it should fall back into English like all other extensions do.
Anyway, I just created the el-GR file and not only it did not resolve the problem, now all the texts have problem.

OK, I even created a el-GR.com_jfbconnect file and replace my old one. Still the last problem remains.

Ok, will be looking into this later today. The English fallback is something that only works depending on your overall Joomla configuration, so not something we say to rely on. Obviously, if creating the el-GR file breaks all the strings, get rid of that file.

Thanks for the feedback, and we'll let you know what we find.

I never had a problem falling back into English before and I have created thousands of Greek Joomla sites.
I delete the Greek file and I'm back to square one.

Thanks for the access to the site. I'm not sure what was wrong with your el-GR.com_jfbconnect.ini file, but I renamed it to el-GR.com_jfbconnect_orig.ini, and then the en-GB file started working again.

The en-GB fallback only works if the current language file can't be found. Since it could, that file was being used and Joomla doesn't 'fall back' if it finds the right file. However, it seems like Joomla was having an issue parsing that file, causing the issue. Not sure what was wrong with it, I did a quick look and things seemed correct. Possible issues are invalid characters in the strings, incorrect comments characters (should be # or ; if I recall correctly) or improper encoding.

Either way, it looks to be fixed now. Please let us know if you're still seeing issues though.

Thanks,
Alex

:D The only problem is that the site is in Greek and I had translated that last ini files. Now if I translate them again do you think that it will work?
