When I register for the site using the Facebook Connector a couple required fields are not filled in.
I have Show Non-Mapped Required Fields: set to yes

I also would like to be able to allow the user to fill in the non-required fields. How do I enable that?

It actually doesn't require the Required Fields at all... This is not good...

I just tried to register on your site, and the fields all turn red (correctly) if I try to hit the submit button without filling anything in. I then filled in a few more, and those didn't turn red, but the others did. This is the correct behavior.

What are you seeing happen when you try to submit the form? Do you have Javascript disabled in your browser?

As for non-required fields, we don't currently have the ability to do that. We can help you add it if you'd like to make a few PHP changes. This is something we're working on doing for JFBConnect v4.2 though.

Hope that helps,
Alex

I just ran it again. did the facebook connect email and password, On the next login / registration screen I enter a username and the password twice and clicked on register at the bottom.

Never complained about required fields...

Are you using Internet Explorer or Firefox. I'm using IE8. Havent tried firefox, but will.

If it works in Firefox and not IE we have a problem Houston...

I just tested on your site again, and now the Facebook authentication popup is giving me:
An error occurred with Fndsbk~Fcebk Connector. Please try again later.
That's usually caused if the the Facebook App is in sandbox mode, but there are other reasons as well. Because of this, I can't test in IE. Previously, I had tested in Chrome. If there is an issue with IE, I'm sure we can get to the bottom of it, but you'll need to undo whatever recent changes you made to your Facebook Application.

Thanks,
Alex

I just realized that on my other computer, I was using the non-www version of your site. Please make sure you've configured the Domain URL in your Facebook Application to findsbook.com. That will make sure the Login functionality works across findsbook.com and www.findsbook.com.

I just tried with IE9, and the fields are coming up red when I submit with them not filled in:
File Attachment:

I don't have IE8 on any test systems here, but we can test with it tomorrow from the office if necessary. We'd recommend you test with other computers to see if it's something specific to the configuration of that one. We do validate the username, email, and password on submission, but only do Javascript validation of extra fields. So, this shouldn't create 'bad' users, but obviously ones with profile fields missing.

Please let us know how testing goes from other computers or versions of IE, and please fix your application so that www and non-www versions work.

Thanks,
Alex

I've tested on a couple different computers. Don't use IE 9 yet. Will setup on another pc. I think I have the findsbook.com Facebook application fixed. when you try IE 8 at your end leave the www off and let me know if I have it setup correctly.

I will try IE 9 at my end tomorrow...

Thanks!

Were you able to recreate this problem at your end?
