Hi,

I was using jfb connect v 3.2.2 and I was getting an error because of facebook changing "perms" to "scope" so I wanted to install a newer version of jfb and the most recent one I managed to dl before my subscription ran out is v4.0.1.

I uninstalled 3.2.2 and tried to install the newer one but keep getting this message "Install Component Error".

I have tried installing with ftp mode on and with install from a directory but no luck.
All permissions are ok and I ran through the db to see if any tables were there from the previous release.

I also made sure that all plugins and modules for jfb were uninstalled.
The install function works well with other modules and components but not jfb so I think there is some sort of conflict happening.
I'm using Joomla 1.5.23

Do you have any ideas what could be causing this?

Best I can imagine is that your temp or log directories are not writeable. Check the System Info -> Directories area. Everything should be green and say "Writable". If not, that's your problem.

Other than that, I really haven't heard of that issue before, but let us know if it still doesn't work.
