So I re-installed all of the components and I am back up an running, but we cannot use the status / wall update feature without it locking up..

It sounds like you're using the JomSocial Profile plugin, but our plugin can't find JomSocial properly. Is JomSocial installed and working on your site? If not, please disable the JomSocial profile plugin (and any other profile plugins where the corresponding 3rd party extension doesn't exist).

If JomSocial is installed properly on your site and working normally, let us know, as that'd be a very strange error to be running into.

Thank you for your reply, love this plugin... I don't really know how I got to work but its up and going on three sites. Took most of the day to poor over all the toys, but we got it too work. I did see another issue. I use a Joomlart template labra and I had an issue in getting one of the modules to appear on user6, but its not important, I am still learning joomla..
